Acne eruptions are more common in an oily skin. Milk of magnesia helps to absorb the extra oil present on the surface of oily skin. Moreover, the magnesium hydroxide of milk of magnesia gives it an alkaline nature which neutralize the acid responsible for causing acne. It has some amount of zinc that disinfects the acne. Pour some milk of magnesia on a cotton ball and dab it over each of the pimples and leave it overnight. Wash it off with lukewarm water the next morning. Milk of Magnesia for Oily Skin: If your skin is oily, then you are at a greater risk of getting acne. To keep outbreak of pimples at bay, you can use milk of magnesia as a toner. Apply milk of magnesia with cotton, particularly on the T-zone and leave it for about 10 minutes and then rinse off with warm water. Initially, use it two times in a week. When applied lightly on the skin, it absorbs excess of oil and helps to hold the make up for a long time.
Milk of Magnesia for Skin Rashes: Milk of magnesia acts as an effective disinfectant for many other forms of skin rashes, particularly diaper rash of infants. Apply a generous amount of milk of magnesia on the affected part with the help of a cotton ball. The antacid properties of milk of magnesia helps to neutralize the acids that cause diaper rash.
