The benefits of milk bath for the skin can be attributed to the presence of lactic acid and fats in milk. Lactic acid found in milk is a natural alpha hydroxy acid, which can exfoliate the skin. In other words, lactic acid can gently remove the dead skin cells to reveal a radiant and glowing skin. This acid basically dissolves the proteins that bind the dead skin cells together. At the same time, the fats present in milk hydrate and moisturize the skin to make it extremely soft and supple.

Bath Recipes With Milk
Pour about 2 to 4 cups of fresh milk or buttermilk to your bathtub. If you do not like to go for fresh milk, then you can opt for powdered milk, i.e. you can use powdered milk instead of fresh milk. If you are going to use powdered milk, then mix it properly with a small amount of water before adding to your bathtub. By doing so, you can avoid the clumps that can form while adding powdered milk directly to the bathtub.

Ideally, milk bath should be slightly warm or lukewarm. Once, your bath is ready, you can submerge yourself in the bath for about 10 to 15 minutes. Use a soft loofah or washcloth to scrub your body gently to facilitate the exfoliation of dead skin cells. After this beauty bath, you will observe a marked difference in your skin, as it will become much softer and smother than before. To enhance the benefits of this bath, you can add some other ingredients like, honey, oatmeal, sea salt, baking powder, seaweed, nutmeg and a few of drops of aromatherapy oils to your basic bath recipe.
