Miley Cyrus' New Book Highlights Lonely Pre-Teen Years
Miley Cyrus' new book was released yesterday, and in it she spells out a story of heartache and tribulations that should prove inspirational for young girls facing problems of their own.
Miley Cyrus' new book, "Miley Cyrus: Years to Go," was released in bookstores yesterday and, despite the fame and success the young star has achieved, the book highlight the young girl's early tribulations during her pre-teen days in Tennessee. Speaking of those school days, Miley notes in the book, "The girls took it beyond normal bullying. These were big, tough girls. I was scrawny and short. They were fully capable of doing me bodily harm." Miley goes so far as to refer to the group of bullies as "the anti-Miley Club" and goes on at length about how miserable they made her life.
Recounting an episode during which she was locked in a girl's restroom, she notes, "They shoved me in. I was trapped. I banged on the door until my fists hurt. Nobody came. I spent what felt like an hour in there, waiting for someone to rescue me, wondering how my life had gotten so messed up." Eventually, as all such tales go, the bullies challenged Miley to a fight. "It seemed like Operation Make Miley Miserable was escalating to a new level. More like Operation Take Miley Down. Three girls strutted up and stood towering over me. My stomach churned. I clutched my grilled cheese sandwich like it was the hand of my best friend. It pretty much was my best friend those days. I was done for."
As it turns out, of course, Miley wasn't done for. She moved to L.A. shortly after that and, of course, eventually became "Hannah Montana" in a series of highly-popular Disney movies. Despite the success, Miley claims she'll never forget the struggle, and goes on in the book about other tribulations that she faced after her move, including her young romance with Nick Jonas, the youngest of the popular boy band "The Jonas Brothers."
