The Houston Midtown area has become one of the most exciting spots in Houston. From bars to apartments this area has surged in popularity.
The Houston Midtown area is one of the most exciting places in Houston when it comes down to entertainment. The Midtown area is known for its exciting bars including the Red Door and Pub Fiction. Both places draw large crowds. The majority of the individuals in Midtown are in their 20’s and lower 30’s. It is one of the best places to meet new fresh faces. Most of the bars, restaurants, and clubs are within minutes of walking distance from each other. Individuals who visit the area can easily bar hop to several places throughout the night. And there are also an assortment of apartments and town-homes in the area.

Midtown Houston apartments are also some of the most expensive in the entire city of Houston. However, it did not used to be this way. The establishment of the Midtown Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone led to new construction of high end apartments and town-homes. The population jumped 73% from 1990-2000. Apartments like Post Midtown Square and Metro Midtown began to attract young renters who desired to be right in the center of nightlife and excitement. Just last year Camden City Centre opened its doors for business. However living in Midtown has its price. Just three years ago renters could find one bedroom apartments in the mid $800’s. Today rents are about $1000 and for a comfortable one bedroom, renters can expect to pay north of $1100. However its location is one of the best in the city as it is conveniently near Downtown, the Texas Medical Center, and Rice Village areas.

Commercial construction was soon to follow once a large residential population moved into the area permanently. A new 24 Hour Fitness is now located in the area. And there are a few large tracts of land owned that will surely have some more apartments or other types of developments constructed on its premises.
