Midnight Love [Chapter 6]

Chapter 6... whooo.
Braxton jogged up to the gazebo fifteen after seven, late. He hadn’t thought of an excuse to her tell her, he was really bad with coming up with ones. They always sounded cheesy or lame. But, who would believe he was fighting with his parents about the next full moon?

Most of the myths about werewolves were just that, myths. The one about even the slightest amount of silver kills. It is true that silver irritates the skin and burns when it touches a fresh would, but it didn’t do much damage unless there was a whole load of it, other then that it isn’t fatal. The full moon myth was party true. When the moon is full, it was just hard to resist the will of change, but it’s possible to stay in human form.
The thing about the full moon is that it’s when werewolves are most powerful, the feeling of running as fast as the wind is indescribable.

"You’re late."

Alex sat on the bench, looking impatient. She was clicking away on her cell phone, texting whoever. Once she was finished, the phone was pocketed into her sweatshirt.

"Sorry," He mumbled.

"No problem."

Braxton leaned up against one of the gazebo’s poles, he watched her stand up. Once again, he felt the familiar ripple run through his body when the hid hit her; but it past just as quickly as it came. It actually came all the time, more often when he lets himself relax, but it has been happening less often lately.

"I was late too, I just showed up," Alex grinned at him, hopping to her feet and took a few steps towards him.

"That was luck."

"Uh huh, yeah. Well, I have a better idea then a tour of the town, buuuuttt, you if really want one, I’ll give you one," She hoped down from the and step.

Alex had different plans? He has already been around this town, which is why he liked it. On the East side of town, there was a small wooded area, just perfect for him to run around in.

"What’s that?" He asked as he followed her out to her car. It was small and white, he had no idea what kind it was.

A wide grin spread across her face as she glanced over to him, "There’s a party tonight.. And since Fret never goes to parties, I never go.. So, I was hoping…"

A party? Braxton’s head buzzed with the through of loud music and drinking… He can’t even remember the last time he attended a party. Shrugging, "Okay."

"Okay," she smiled, opening the door to her car and got in.

"You seriously never been to a party before?"

"No, I’ve been to a few. They aren’t that fun to go to unless you have friends," Her shoulders rose in s a shrug as she placed the keys into the ignition.

"True."
Alex placed a CD into the CD player and heavy rock started to play., "Last year a party was busted," she started, "and it was during basketball season. Out team had just won regional championship, so they were going to state. The idiots decided to throw a party and about a third of the team was given six weeks."

"Oh, that would’ve sucked."

She laughed and shook her head, "no, I don’t care. I think it’s all overrated, really. Now, partying with myself to my own music is much more time worthy."

She pulled off the main road, taking a left and drove out of the town. This must be the way to where the party was.

Deciding to take a small risk, just curious to see her reaction, he leaned back in his seat and said, "maybe next time I can party with you in your basement." He meant to make it sound slightly suggesting, even if he was just joking.

She laughed quietly under her breath, "With some loud screamo band, loud enough that it’s to the point where it pisses off my parents."

"It doesn’t have to be that loud."

"Yeah, in your dreams Braxton." She was smiling through, so he knew it was alright.

They were now in a place he has never been. Driving of the gravel road on to a bumpy dirt road, it was a road that looked like it had been started by some random kid driving at the edge of a pasture.

"That it?" he asked, pointing to what looked like a run-down old house that was surrounded by a small patch of trees that ran to a nearby creek. He didn’t notice it till they got close, but they were was much more people there then he expected.

"Do they always party here?" he asked, stepping out of the car once they were parked. Braxton saw couches, lawn chairs, and lazy boys. Card tables were also set up with food and drinks on them.

"No, they change places every few weeks," she told him, taking a seat on a fold out chair and Braxton took a seat next to her.

The music was loud, his head bopped slowly to the music. The beat sounded familiar, but he couldn’t pin it down.

"Braxton… Braxton."

His head snapped to the side, looking at her, "What?"
