Just starting something up on my free time.![Midnight Love 2: Between Night and Day [Chapter 1]](http://www.buzzle.com/img/articleImages/6237-12.jpg)
Ever since moving out of her mother’s home, it had never felt like home to her, and moving to the city after graduation, she was hoping to make herself a new life. She had never been one of the ‘popular’ crowd back at her school, not that she ever cared, it was perfect time to create a whole new story.
Though, right now Alex wasn’t even worrying about that, she was just worrying about letting loose and having a night of fun, perhaps meeting some new people. Already, she had danced with a few guys, but they weren’t considered new to her. She felt like she needed new friends, a whole new life.
The lights flashed on in off, sending the entire room into what looked like a kaleidoscope. There were different colors in every shapes everywhere you looked. The aurora of the room was light and fun, making it easy for everyone just to chill.
Now, Alex was just moving along with the music only just finished dancing with someone minutes before. Everyone else around her seemed to have the same idea, even now most of them had someone they were dancing with. Dancing with someone or without someone, it didn’t matter to her. She founded it fun either way. Never before had Alex went out and danced, it was that night that she found out she really enjoyed it.
Feeling slightly parched, Alex was just about to step off the dance floor when an arm wrapped around her small waist and was pulled up against an unknown person behind her.
"Someone as beautiful as you shouldn’t be dancing alone…"
Somehow, the words sounded familiar, but the thought was pushed to the side once she thought that it was almost impossible to run into someone she knew in the city, which was over a 7 hour drive from her hometown. Even so, Alex’s hips began to sway simultaneously with the person’s behind her. It was a slight thrill not to know who she was dancing with.
Snaking her arm up around the guy’s neck, she allowed her fingers to run through medium length hair. The music seemed to blend in more into the distance as the dancing took over her. Alex could feel his breath against her neck as her body rubbed against his. Slowly, she turned her head to get a slight peek at her mystery dancer, catching a sight of him in the corner of her eye.
It was a familiar face that she saw, someone with blue eyes that hid behind dark bangs. Her heart immediately felt like it was going to jump right there out of her chest, before it seemed like it completely stopped. Soon after, her body seemed to shut down every function, unable to react to Braxton taking her arm and twirling her arms so that she faced him, and held her against him.
Burying her face into his chest, Alex was desperately trying to hold back the sudden flood of emotions that overwhelmed her. She had moved to get ride of it all, from all the memories…. Alex had never been the kind to fall in love and when it had happened, she had fell hard. Once he left, it was downhill from there. It had been hard to jump out of the groove he stranded her in, and she left to try and climb her way out of it. Now, there he was holding her and everything just came back, hitting her hard.
"Alex," his voice whispered in her ear, muttering soft words to her so that it was only her that could hear him.
He gave her body a squeeze, just in time for Alex to break down in sobs. They came quick and strong as she clung onto him, afraid that he’ll leave her against if she left go. She wasn’t sure if she would be able to handle it all over again, it felt like it had almost killed her the first time.
Braxton’s hand pushed back her hair and his lips pressed softly against her forehead, "Come with me."
He took her hand and led her off the dance floor and through a large crowd, into a more quiet area. With her hands still in his, Alex followed him silently behind him, trying to gain control of her sobs. Quietly, she took in slow deeps breaths to regain control of her breathing.
"Alex," Braxton muttered her name again, pulling her body towards him. He ran his thumbs under her eyes, wiping her tears away, "I’m so sorry."
Alex could feel the wet streaks that ran down her face, now she was embarrassed as she pulled herself together. Yet, she couldn’t find it in her to get angry at him, even though she wanted to. It was just one of those moments where she couldn’t feel anything other than being happy. He had left her, abandoned her… but she found herself forgiving him.
"Of?" Alex asked, still softly sniffling.
Braxton carefully pressed his lips to hers and then rested her forehead against her own, "For leaving you…"
He went off on a long forgiveness speech, sounding desperate as he whispered the words in her ears. She bit down on her lip and nodded at his words with her head resting up against his chest.
"You have no idea how much I’ve missed," he told her, wrapped her arms around her and held her again him. His arms held her tight, as if he was also afraid that she would pick up and leave.
It all felt like a dream to Alex, there were many moments where she believed that she saw him, but it turned out to be a figment of her imagination. Her dreams also felt real, similar to what she was living right know… only know her heart pounded painfully inside her chest.
She knew what he was, she saw what he could do, but all the same she believed him… but he picked up and left once, there’s no way saying that he wouldn’t do it again. Still, she pushed that thought from her mind. He was here, standing there with his arms around her. It was real, it hand to be real.
Tilting her head up, their lips briefly brushed before she muttered, "come with me." It came out as a small squeal, but she still took his hand and lead him out of the club…
