Mick's My Friend

Fun poem about my best friend’s husband…
What can I say about Mick that hasn't already been said. Well quite a lot I suppose. One thing's for sure he doesn't possess a sweet talking say what you want to hear attitude, as he's as blunt as a fart in a chapel during a painful silence. That said he enthralls us all with stories that contain both humorous and enlightening information!!!!!

Mick's my friend
He makes me laugh
Probably because he's almost daft
He sleeps all day
And sleeps all night
Mick van Winkle
What a sight
He gives me books
CD's and all
Then I have to listen to his incessant call
On the phone he prattles on and on
"Collect your books or they go to pawn"
His car he keeps it very clean
And sometimes I can be Soooo!!! mean
I drop some crumbs here and there
Then sit and wait for Mick to flare
He blames the kids
He blames his wife
But I'm the culprit
The bane of his life

His child like qualities abound
They fill my soul
With sight and sound
I fill his head with stories galore
Mick sits and listens eager for more
Discussions are commonplace
And Mick's house is a sort of base
Where we all converge and have our say
The talk goes on and on
'Till the end of day
Arguments are rare
When all's laid bare
But opinions differ
And tempers flare
We sometimes shout to have our say
Then we say good night
'Till another day
