Michael Jackson's Personal Chef Reveals Scene of His Death
Kai Chase, Michael Jackson's personal chef, told the Associated Press of her role in the singer's life and her observations of Dr. Murray and the day Jackson died.
Kai Chase comes from a show business family and she has cooked for an array of stars and celebrities, including catering an event for Barack Obama. Chase was hired by Jackson to provide fresh and healthy meals for him and his children, in special preparation for Jackson's upcoming comeback concert tour.
Chase described a loving atmosphere in the home, with Jackson dining with the children for at least two meals each day. She developed a special bond with Jackson's kids and she seems to have enjoyed the time she spent with them and Jackson. But perhaps the most interesting aspect of her interview with the AP is her revelation about the comings and goings of Dr. Murray, right up until the morning that Jackson died.
Chase said the Dr. Murray would arrive at Jackson's house between 9 and 9:30PM every evening and that he would still be there when she left later in the evening. It was her understanding that Murray spent the night with Jackson on most evenings.
Most mornings, as Chase was preparing a morning meal, she said she would see Dr. Murray coming down the stairs with two oxygen tanks, one in each hand. On the morning of June 25, Chase didn't see Murray come down the stairs and she recalls thinking that Mr. Jackson was likely sleeping late that day.
Around noon, she noticed how late it was and it was moments later that Dr. Murray ran down the stairs screaming for Chase to go get Prince, Michael's oldest son. Chaos ensued and paramedics were soon running up the stairs. Jackson was taken to the hospital at around 1:30PM, but it is unclear if he ever regained consciousness.
