Michael Jackson's Doctor Remains Focus of Investigation
Nearly two months after the sudden death of Michael Jackson, investigators are still focusing on Dr. Conrad Murray, Jackson's personal physician who was with him when he died.
Federal investigators executed a raid on a Las Vegas pharmacy where Dr. Conrad Murray wrote prescriptions for Michael Jackson as well as some of his other patients. It is believed that investigators are searching for medical records and order histories for Murray and any medications that were prescribed for Jackson.
This investigation is moving forward while the Los Angeles County coroner's office is still waiting to release the final autopsy report in Jackson's death. That report should provide some answers as to exactly what drugs were in Jackson's system at the time of his death and will likely be a central piece of evidence in any case built against Dr. Murray.
Of course, the coroner's office won't release any report while the police investigation is ongoing. It's assumed that investigators have access to the report during their probe and that it is that report that is likely driving the actions of investigators.
If investigators are able to prove that Dr. Murray was administering dangerous drugs to Michael Jackson that would be considered abnormal in normal medical practice, then it's likely that they will be able to prosecute him - in some way - for Jackson's death. The problem they'll face is that it is highly unlikely that Murray was doing anything that was not directly asked of him by Michael Jackson.
Visually, it has been obvious for years that Michael Jackson was unhealthy by traditional standards. He was emaciated and his botched plastic surgeries had left him mangled and deformed. The cocktail of drugs that he was likely taking surely led to his eventual death, but it appears that Dr. Conrad Murray is going to be the man to answer for Jackson's death.
