Mia - Chapter 1
Misty meets a strange girl (Mia) and begins to wonder how Mia knows so much about her.
I walked into my new room and sat on the bed. I can't believe I'm nearly eighteen years old!
"Misty! I need help unpacking over in the kitchen," my mum told me from my doorway.
"Ok, gimme a minute." I grumbled then shut the door when she turned to leave. I'd probably hit her with the door, but I didn't care.
"Misty! Your mother needs help in the kitchen!" Dad yelled, I assumed from the garage where he had been getting boxes from the moving truck and putting them in their respective rooms.
"Ok! I'm coming!" I yelled at him. Don't parents know their kids have lives?
I grumbled and whined my way through unpacking the pots, pans, plates and cups while mum did everything else in there.
"Sweetheart, if you wanna go out for a while you can." Mum smiled as I put the last lot of plates away.
"Ok, I'm outta here." I told her while walking to the front door. I felt something on my way out though, a cold shiver, I had a bead feeling about this house.
During my walk I avoided thinking about the new place, I tried thinking about the beach, guys, my new school, anything to keep my mind off the shiver. I decided to go to the beach and chill for a while. This place was within thirty minutes driving from my old house at Erina.
After an hour I'd calmed down enough to go home and continue unpacking, my stuff this time.
When I did get home mum and dad were nearly finished the lounge room and they had finished the kitchen and dining rooms.
"Hi, I'm gonna go unpack my room." I told them as I walked past.
I walked into my room and shut the door.
"Be careful," a female voice told me, I turned around but no-one was there. I turned back around to the boxes and there was a brunette girl standing at my window. I walked over to her curiously and opened the window.
"Who are you?" I asked standing a few steps away from the window in case she was dangerous.
"Mia, Mia Rose Thorp." The girl said.
"Hi Mia, what are you doing at my window?" I asked confused but polite.
"I'm not gonna hurt you... are you Misty Brown?" Mia asked smiling.
"Yeah, how do you know my name?" I asked a bit worried now.
"You'll have to find out by yourself." Mia told me before running into the forest a hundred meters from my window. Mia was strange, but I wanted, no, needed to find out who she was.
A week passed and I still hadn't seen Mia again, I was starting to think that I'd dreamt our little encounter, but then I saw her. It was the second day of school. Mia was sitting in a large group of people. I saw her glance at me and smile.
When I got to my first class (which was textiles and design), Mia was there again... but so were her groupies. I was surprised when she shooed them away so I could sit with her...
"Hi Misty." She greeted me with a friendly smile.
"Hi," I smiled back.
Through the class she and I talked about our interests and she seemed so similar to me...
"So how do you know me? You didn't answer me last week." I asked turning to look at her.
"Like I said... you'll have to wait and see. But I'm not dangerous, or I would have hurt you by now." Mia told me still working on her dress design, I turned back to my own dress design and continued working in silence until the bell went.
By the end of the day my curiosity about Mia had reached its peak and when I got home, before I even got inside I heard my parents shouting. It was something about Mia. Who was she? Why was she so interested in little old me?
