Mexican Auto Insurance - Join the campaign for REAL Insurance.

English common law is practiced in the US and Canada, while Napoleonic Law is followed in Mexico. Generally, in Mexico you are considered guilty until proven innocent and in the US or Canada you are considered innocent until proven guilty.
The differences in application of these two principles can cause nightmarish problems to the naive traveler who is unaware of the need to purchase Mexican Insurance.

Typical Mexican Auto Insurance Problems:

1. Not Having Mexican Auto Insurance

Typical US and Canadian domestic auto insurance is null and void in Mexico. Motorists who do not have Mexican Auto Insurance do so at their own risk, as any drivers who gets into a car accident may spend many hours or days in jail and have their vehicle taken by the authorities to pay for third party damages.

2. Not Having Emergency Medical Assistance

Traveling in Mexico is fun, but it can become a traumatic ordeal without emergency medical assistance. US health insurance generally excludes coverage in Mexico.

3. Finding Quality Mexican Insurance

It is highly recommended that you purchase Mexico auto insurance before entering the country. Although Mexican insurance can be purchased from various sellers just prior to entering, you will have great difficulty reading your policy on the go and trying to figure out if your policy is from a reputable insurance provider approved by the Mexican authorities, if you have the good quality coverage for your trip, if any activities that you plan to do are excluded, or if you if the price is fair?

4. Legal Help and Bond Expenses

Here is an area is often forgotten in policy coverage. Your Mexico Auto policy should include a provision for Legal Assistance and Bond Expenses.

5.) When you buy coverage, you should receive the following to take with you on your trip:

* Authentic and admitted Mexican auto insurance policy
* Accident instructions and important policy information
* Essential phone numbers
* Insurance Premium payment receipt

Make sure your plan covers your entire stay. All companies have daily, weekly, and yearly policies. You may find it less expensive to buy coverage with a longer period if you plan to stay over 20 days or 4 weeks.
