Merciless Manipulators

Will do anything to achieve their goal!
Merciless Manipulators
These eight year olds played in this no man’s land.
This twosome was always seen hand in hand.
Fights and arguments between them were very rare.
Outside their friendship little did they know and least did they care.
The innocents were content with one another.
Morning till evening they were always together.
Their families neither accepted nor objected to this.
Both the kids felt something was always amiss.
There was a strange aloofness seen in their attitude.
Poor ones didn’t know the problems’ magnitude.
About the tension brewing they knew not.
Hiding from the family they played a lot.
They were unaware of the impending danger.
How will they know, being so young and tender?
With their recent discovery, they were too delighted.
They were assured that they will never be spotted.
This no man’s land was their new hide out.
Holding arms, they were running round and about.
Not very late they heard a deafening blast.
In the ensuing shoot out they breathed their last.
Their faiths were the heartless killers.
Whichever or whoever, they were merciless manipulators.
