Men Yeast Infections - Yes, We Get Them Too
A short jaunt into my history with male yeast infections. How I got it, what it did to me, and finally, how I got rid of it.
Men get yeast infections just like women do. The infection is the same in both but it does deviate slightly in its symptoms. In men, yeast infections are usually brought on by an infected lover. Often, the infection is passed back and forth between two partners almost endlessly. Things start to look crazy after a while and somebody notices something. In men, yeast infections result in a very red, sore, and agitated penis. First the pain is topical, only affecting the surface of the organ. Later though, it begins it's travel up the infected person's urethra. Things start to get messy here. The yeast can infect your bladder and eventually make it's way into what is my favorite gland. The prostate can become infected resulting in a white yellowy discharge from the penis. It can really get bad here and there are a few who have died from this infection.
Condoms can also contain a chemical in their lubricants that is an alleged contributor to yeast infections. It is a spermicide that, when combined with the lubricant actually gives the infection a competitive advantage and allows it to take over.
If you are taking antibiotics, you're also at risk. It is often the case that some of the bacteria that the antibiotics kill are actually beneficial to you. The good bacteria get killed off disrupting the natural flora of your genital area, and the infection takes over.
And believe it or not, diabetes is also closely linked to yeast infections. The yeast actually likes to feed on the unusually high levels of sugar in your urine making it quite a good place for the little buggers to set up shop. If you often urinate and have constant yeast infections, it would be best that you went to have your problem diagnosed.
Please, if you thought you might have a male yeast infection and after reading this are even more concerned. Please take action to get yourself cured of this awful infection and take your life back.
