The importance of eating the right foods cannot be stressed enough. Foods containing vitamin B12 are considered to be the best memory enhancers, and these should constitute a major part of the diet. Including some memory supplements is also a good idea.
  • Memory games and puzzles: It is crucial to remember that simply reading about techniques for memory enhancement is not enough, they should be practiced regularly instead. There are many memory games and mind puzzles that work in improving an individuals memory and retention capabilities. These games keep the mind fresh and a regular dose of them goes a long way in helping the memory of a person.

Relating things to a mental picture helps in creating a sequence of things, and it's harder to forget images. This also has the ability to enable a person to remember sharp details about people and situations, and the end result is increased mental capacity.
  • Repetition: For some people, constant repetition works as a great aid to enhance memory. Remembering names and other things can be avoided if repetition is applied. This reinstates the piece of information in the brain and makes it easier to recall at some time in the future. Writing things down is also known to be one of the best methods.
