Memories Fade

Over time, memories fade,
Life loses its meaning,
Love loses its warmth.
Trees shed their leaves,
Hearts just get colder.
Comfort vanishes,
We all become strangers.
Eyes become dry
From lack of emotion.
The days become longer
And turn gray, full of dust.
Communication becomes unknown,
Honesty is soon forgotten
And we feed on betrayal.
People stop longing for each other,
Loners stop hoping for a change,
Lovers stop kissing one another
And slowly start to drift apart.
Just look around,
Open your eyes and roam the cities,
Look at what this world's come to;
Look at what we've come to be...
