Mel B Names Eddie Murphy as Baby Daddy

A source close to the former Spice Girl has reportedly confirmed that Murphy was officially listed as the father on the birth certificate. The source said, "He’s definitely been named on the birth certificate." The baby was born just after midnight at Saint Jude’s Hospital in Santa Monica on April 3, Murphy’s 46th birthday. She weighed 5 pounds and 4 ounces and reportedly has a "good head of hair." Mother and daughter are reportedly doing well.

Brown, 31, and Murphy, 46, briefly dated after his divorce from Nicole Mitchell was finalized in April 2006. Murphy and Brown split in October and he began seeing Tracey Edmunds, the ex-wife of singer Babyface. Brown announced her pregnancy in October and Murphy challenged the claims in an interview on a Dutch television station. When Murphy was asked how he felt about the pregnancy he responded, "I don’t know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test." Brown fired back saying she was "upset and distressed as some of the comments made by Eddie." She continued, "There is absolutely no question that Eddie is the father."

Brown has an 8-year old daughter, Phoenix Chi, with her ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar. She was married to Gulzar, a back-up dancer, from 1998 to 2000. There have been reports that Brown named her new little girl Fortuna Daphne Bay Frankie Daytona Brown. A source close to her claims that the stories are "total rubbish" and that the baby has not been named yet.
