Republican Senator John McCain has acknowledged that he is down in the polls, yet the presidential hopeful doesn’t plan to go down without a fight. McCain announced on Sunday that he plans to take the opportunity at Wednesday’s final televised debate to "whip" Barack Obama’s "you know what."

The final debate in the presidential campaign is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, at Hofstra University on Long Island, N.Y. just weeks before Election Day on November 4th. CBS News anchor Bob Schieffer will act as the moderator at the 90-minute debate.

"We’re a couple points down, OK, nationally, but we’re right in this game," McCain said to cheers. "The economy has hurt us a little bit in the last week or two, but in the last few days we’ve seen it come back up because they want experience, they want knowledge and they want vision. We’ll give that to America."

McCain and running mate Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin will continue to hit the campaign trail in the remaining three weeks, including locations like Nevada, Colorado, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New Mexico. Monday’s schedule includes a joint appearance Virginia, a typically Republican stronghold that has turned into a battleground between the two parties.

"We’re going to spend a lot of time and after I whip his you-know-what in this debate, we’re going to be going out 24/7," McCain said.

Despite the heated battle, McCain has promised to run a "respectful" campaign for the rest of the race.

"I respect Senator Obama, we will conduct a respectful race and be sure everyone else does too. But there are stark difference between us," McCain said.

Rumor has it that McCain is deliberating over new economic proposals that could help the country get through the devastating financial crisis. When McCain was asked about the nature of the proposals, the Senator declined to elaborate.

Senator Lindsey Graham, R-SC, said McCain was considering proposals that would reduce taxes on investments.

"I think it goes along the lines of now’s the time to lower tax rates for investors, capital gains tax, dividend tax rates, to make sure that we can get the economy jump-started," Graham said on CBS" "Face the Nation." "It will be a very comprehensive approach to jump-start the economy by allowing capital to be formed easier in America by lowering taxes."

McCain has already devised a proposal to create a $300 billion plan in which the federal government would buy "distressed mortgages" and "renegotiate them at a reduced price."
