Matthew McConaughey: It’s a Boy!

Alan Nierob, McConaughey’s rep, confirmed that little Levi was born Monday at 6:22 p.m. in Los Angeles. He weighed in at 7 pounds 4 ounces. This is the first child for both McConaughey, 38, and Alves, 25. The couple has been dating for over a year. There has reportedly been no marriage talk, but the pair has been seen sporting matching rings. In November, McConaughey even gave up his beloved trailer and invested in a $10 million dollar home in Malibu in preparation for the baby.

In January, McConaughey announced that he and Alves were expecting a baby. At the time he wrote on his website, "My girlfriend Camila and I made a baby together." He added, "We are stoked and wowed by this miracle of creation and this gift from God, and so excited for the adventure that will come raising this child, being mother and father, and shepherding him or her through this life."

McConaughey has previously been romantically linked to Sandra Bullock, Ashley Judd, and Penelope Cruz. McConaughey’s latest film projects include Fool’s Gold where he stars with his How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days co-star Kate Hudson, Surfer Dude, and Tropic Thunder. Alves, a Brazilian model and the designer of the handbag line Muxo, said in an interview recently that she is going to take some time off once the baby is born. She said, "More important than anything is that I have a peaceful life and a peaceful home." McConaughey’s brother Rooster weighed in on the birth and said of his brother, "That guy is going to make one helluva a dad."
