Panasonic has just rolled out a new massage chair model which is part of the new contemporary urban series. The Panasonic EP-1285 is the subject of this product review. See how the latest Panasonic massage chair fares in our review.
Panasonic is introducing its new line of Swede-Atsu urban massage chairs. This new recliner boasts some excellent new features from Panasonic. The top-of-the-line model of this new series is the EP 1285. This is a review of the EP 1285 and will include its advanced features and the warranty coverage. We take an in depth look at this new and exciting massage recliner.

We always encourage you to first compare the warranty coverage of the different chairs that you are interested in purchasing. Warranty coverage will provide you with peace of mind and protection down the road. Although it is rare that a problem occurs, it does happen. You want to be covered so that you can get the most out of your purchase.

Panasonic provides you with a one year warranty coverage of parts on EP 1285. They also provide you with three years of warranty coverage on the roller mechanism. The roller mechanism is the system that provides the massage for the back and shoulders. You also receive one year of in-home technician service. This is a critical service to have, so any problems you have a technician will come to you.

This new contemporary urban massage recliner series is a welcome departure from the traditional mundane designs typically from Panasonic. They have been famous for their sterile industrial designs in the past. The new contemporary series brings a fresh look to the line.

This massage chair comes equipped with nine manual massage techniques. This is a tremendous variety at this price point. You can find massage techniques such as Swedish, shiatsu, Hawaiian and chiropractic. These massages can be targeted for a specific area like your shoulders or lower back. This is great to release specific areas of tension that you may have.

There are also automatic programs included. The automatic programs are capable of running full body massages. There are four different automatic programs to choose from you can select from shiatsu, Swedish, chiropractic and click. The automatic massages allow you to quickly select a program and get a full body massage.

An air massage system has been integrated into the leg rest. The air massage covers both the calves and feet. The EP 1285 comes with 12 airbags located to target the calves and feet. These are specially designed to help improve the circulation. They are designed to synchronize and such a way to push and an upward motion to help with circulation in the lower legs.

A stretching system is also incorporated into the leg rest. The stretching of the lower body helps to alleviate stiffness in the thighs, hips and lower back. The system works by first activating the airbags to hold the feet. The leg rest is then raised to the horizontal position. Next, the leg rest will lower little by little which will effectively stretch out the lower body.

The EP 1285 also uses the latest sweetheart to urban massage technology from Panasonic. This technology uses two or four rubber massage heads. These massage heads are used to replicate the palm, heel of the hand and the thumbs. This unique design is patterned after the movements of a master masseuse.

The EP 1285 massage chair from Panasonic is the mark of a new design paradigm from this company. Although this is a good start in that direction, there are still some design elements that consumers may wrestle with such as the leg rest. Otherwise, the massage programs are comprehensive and fairly effective. The stretching system is a good addition at this price point. If you are looking for a contemporary massage chair then this is the only one that should be on your short list.
