Mask for Oily Skin
Oily skin makes the face look dull and tired. Masks can do wonders to improve your complexion. Sometimes, it's frustrating to have this skin type, but don't worry because here are some mask recipes that will definitely help.

Homemade Oily Skin Masks
Banana Mask
Banana gives the skin a better complexion, and smoothens the skin and wrinkles. It also nourishes the skin with vitamins that are present in banana.
You will need
- 1 ripe banana
- ½ tablespoon of honey
- 2 to 3 drops of lemon
Smash a half ripe banana. Add ½ tablespoon of honey in it and mix it with your fingers. Then, add 2 or 3 drops of lemon in the mixture. Stir this mixture, so that it turns into a smooth paste. But before using it, wash your face with a face wash that suits your skin type and pat it dry. Now, apply this mask on to your face and massage it with two fingers for 2 minutes. Wash your face again, and then, pat dry. This mask can be applied twice a week, for best results.
Sandalwood Mask
Sandalwood is used as a skin conditioner, as it is known for its antiseptic properties.
You will need
- cleansing milk
- cotton balls
- 1 tablespoon of sandalwood powder
- rose water
Pour some cleansing milk onto a cotton ball, and wipe your face till all the dirt on your face has been cleaned. This is necessary before applying the mask, so that the dirt is wiped off from the pores. Rinse off your face with warm water and pat dry. Mix 1 tablespoon of sandalwood powder with rose water, such that the mixture is not a thick paste. Apply this mixture on the face and if there is acne, apply a thicker layer on it. Keep this mask on your face, till it is completely dry; let the mask dry naturally. Wash, and then pat dry your face. If your face feels very dry after this, use a moisturizer that is suitable for your skin. This can be repeated thrice a week, if the face has more oiliness and acne.
Oatmeal Mask
Oatmeal is used as a scrubber and it exfoliates the skin and gives it a smooth, glowing look.
You will need
- 2 tablespoons of oatmeal
- 2 to 3 drops of lemon juice
- rose water
Add 2 tablespoons of oatmeal in a bowl. Add rose water and mix it into a paste. Add 2 drops of lemon in this mixture. Apply this paste to your face and leave it for 15 minutes. Wash thoroughly and pat dry.
Simple Yeast Mask
Among the many types of yeast available, brewer's yeast is known to be beneficial for the skin. Brewer's yeast helps to remove the blackheads, whiteheads and also treats acne.
You will need
- 1 tablespoon of brewer's yeast
- 1 tablespoon of homemade yogurt
Mix brewer's yeast and 1 tablespoon yogurt together. Apply this paste on your face and massage it gently. Keep this mask for about 20 minutes and wash it off with warm water. Pat dry your face.
All the ingredients mentioned in the recipes are easily available at home. When using any mask for oily face, make sure you follow the instructions mentioned, regarding the frequency of application. Moreover, following a daily facial skin routine for oily skin will also prove beneficial. If you have oily skin, don't forget to wash your face after a long day at work or outdoors. Always make sure that you use a sunscreen having minimum SPF 30, if you're stepping out in the sun. Increase water intake to keep the skin looking healthy.
