Martin Park Nature Center

The Martin Park Nature Center in Oklahoma City is an educational wildlife sanctuary with a recreational area. It’s where kids and families can get close to the heart of nature and examine life unfolding here.

Martin Park Nature Center is home to a variety of animals including deer, squirrels, butterflies, birds, coyotes, armadillos, owls and plenty of others. You’ll also find various species of native plants at the nature center. There are hiking trails that wind for 3.5 miles through the grasslands and the woods outside the nature center. These trails are of gravel and packed soil, with moderate slopes and steps. There is also a graveled wheelchair accessible trail. A gift shop, browsing library and hands-on museum are also part of the nature center.

Guided nature hikes are highly informative and exciting for families and kids. Nature hike programs include weekend guided hikes that take place regularly as well as special guided nature hikes for groups. Sunday Nature Hikes are a special program of the nature center. During hikes or tours visitors could get a glimpse of some animals let free, such as the armadillo, coyote, owl or deer, depending on the season of visit. All tours and guided hikes require early reservation. Special events also take place from time to time at the nature center.

It is a great way to experience the wild side of Oklahoma City. Visitors to the city can experience the hospitality of OKC hotels and visit the Martin Park Nature Center.
