Martians Invade San Gabriel High School
Has Martians invade Earth yet?
There is a janitor named Miss Karina who was scrubbing the cafeteria floors at San Gabriel High School when she heard a loud boom coming from the girl's locker room. She immediately stopped cleaning and dropped her broom. She runs to the locker room to see what the loud boom was. When she got there, out came a pod of Martians with ray guns, dis-integrators and flamethrowers. She quickly hid behind one of the lockers and overheard them saying something about destroying Earth. As she moved closer so she could hear them better, she suddenly slipped on the wet floor and fell. The Martians heard the fall, but Miss Karina quickly got up and ran back to the cafeteria. She shakily locked all the doors, as she was still trebling. Her heart was beating fast. She thought she was going to pass out.
She hid quietly in the dark, hoping they wouldn't come and find her. Miss Karina stayed there until she could hear no more noises outside. She then decided to get up enough nerve to peek outside and make a run for it. As she unlocked the doors, the Martians rushed in with their ray guns and dis-integrators. Miss Karina screams and turns around and starts to run to the opposite door which leads to the closet. There is no way out, she's trapped. She hides in the closet and is breathing heavily. The Martians slowly look for anybody in the cafeteria. Miss Karina starts to get worried, as they move closer. She starts looking for stuff inside the closet so she'll be ready to hit them if they find her.
Suddenly, she stumbles upon an emergency escape hatch which leads to an underground bomb shelter. She lifts the hatch door and opens the lid. There is a ladder inside where Miss Karina lowers herself down. She found some blankets and sleeping bags on one of the shelves. She takes them and lies down on the floor. When she awakes several hours later, the Martians are gone. Miss Karina realizes that she had escaped death. She drives down to the police station to report her ordeal. No one will believe her story, for she has no photos or proof.
After arriving and telling her story to Sergeant Barney, he laughed at her. He told her, "Okay let's go down to the school lady. I hope you are not pulling my leg ma'am." Miss Karina told him, "You are not going to be disappointed when you get there." There seems to be strange creatures being born one right after the other.
Miss Karina calls the military and tells them that Martians have invaded San Gabriel High School and that they need to run for their life. They ask her, "What is your emergency?" The Sergeant and Miss Karina tell them that Martians have invaded Earth. They start laughing until they're told, "It's a serious matter, and we're not kidding." The military is dispatched and heads down to San Gabriel High School. As soon as they arrive, they start asking questions. "When did you encounter the first set of Martians?" Miss Karina said, "Well it all happened so quickly that I almost had a stroke." Next question, "Were you afraid to leave the building when you saw the Martians?" Yes, I was quite afraid that the Martians would find and kill me on sight." Last question, "Where did you hide when they came marching in the door? I hid in the broom closet and then found a hatch that led to a bomb shelter. I hid in there until I heard them leave.
The Sergeant and Miss Karina tell the military, there are hundreds of them swarming the campus. "I think they are here for the rock that I found when I was cleaning up the science lab." The military guy said, "Well, what are you waiting for? Get the rock and give it back to them!"
"Well, here's the problem! We gave it to the Natural History Museum and they gave us thirty thousand for the rock." "That is just peachy that we don't have what they are looking for. We're all doomed to die here." Miss Karina and the Sergeant turn and tell the soldiers "Don't worry; we have a plan that might just work. Here is the plan! At that moment, Miss Karina runs down to drama room and grabs a Martian suit and a voice changer. She says, "Tell them that we don't have the rock! The Natural History Museum has it." The military soldiers leave the school and tell Miss Karina to resume whatever it was she was doing, and to not tell the Principal that Martians have invaded the school. The plan worked. The Martians leave the school and all head over to the Museum. After arriving at the Museum and getting what they were looking for, they shot heat rays out of their eyes and killed everybody in the Museum. The Martians call for their giant machines to destroy downtown San Gabriel.
Their machines lifted up out of the ground. Everybody that was still at San Gabriel High School said, "Holy Cow! There is a 60 foot robot heading down San Gabriel Road." Miss Karina and Sergeant Barney say, "There is nothing we can do but watch them destroy downtown San Gabriel." They watch hopelessly as the Martians crush downtown San Gabriel. The Martians hit Earth with a destructive force. They left taking the military and Sergeant Barney with them.
Then the rebuilding began after the Martians left Earth for good. Meanwhile, Miss Karina tries to explain to the Principal why there is a gaping hole in the ground. Why there's a dent in the cafeteria door. She explains to the Principal that an earthquake happened and the earthquake caused the dent on the door. He says, "I see, and I have one last question. Why is downtown San Gabriel crushed flat as a pancake? Miss Karina replies, "I don't have a clue as to why San Gabriel is crushed like a pancake." He tells her to resume her work.
She resumes what she was doing. Miss Karina never speaks a word to anybody and enjoys the rest of her life with her husband and kids. She still wonders about the day the Martians came to Earth. She pauses for a while and her husband asks her, "Are you alright?" She tells him, "I'm alright, let's get going to Mexico before we miss our flight."
