Marie Osmond’s Son in Rehab

Osmond, 48, revealed that her son, Michael, had entered rehab while taping an interview on Wednesday with CNN’s Larry King. Osmond said in a statement, "My son Michael is an amazing young man, shown through his courage in facing his issues. As his mother, I couldn’t be more proud of him. The press and public have always been kind and gracious in the past and I know they will continue to respect our privacy during this time. The reason Osmond’s son checked into rehab has not been revealed.

Michael is one of Osmond’s eight children with ex-husband Brian Blosil. Osmond’s brother, Jimmy, reportedly called his nephew Michael a "sweet little boy" who is "suffering from some issues." The family also suffered a loss when patriarch George Osmond passed away last week at the age of 90. Marie took a break from her current gig on Dancing with the Stars, but returned Monday and dedicated her dances to her father. She said that she felt that he would want her to go on with the competition.

Osmond first earned fame as a country music artist in the 70’s and 80’s. She married Stephen Craig in 1982 and the couple divorced in 1985. They had one child. She then married producer Blosil in 1986. Including Stephen, her son from her first marriage, the couple had eight children, some adopted and some biological. In March 2007, Osmond and Blosil announced that they were going through a divorce.
