Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon Married?

Just yesterday it was rumored that Carey, 38, and Cannon, 27, were engaged and now the rumors are that the couple said "I do" in a "small ceremony on an island" Wednesday. Latina magazine first reported the alleged nuptials and quoted a source as saying it was "very impulsive." Reportedly, only a few people were in attendance at the ceremony. The marriage has not yet been confirmed, but already the rumors are running rampant. If they did get married is it for love or to drum up publicity since Carey has a new album and a new movie out.

Carey and Cannon met on the set of her latest video for her new single Bye Bye in late March. A source said the two quickly hit it off and said of the relationship, "It’s hot and heavy." Carey was spotted sporting a humongous diamond at the premiere of her new movie Tennessee at New York’s Tribeca Film Festival on April 26 sparking rumors of an engagement. The two also looked very friendly at a birthday party for rapper Da Brat in Las Vegas a few weeks ago.

If the marriage rumors are true, this is Carey’s second trip down the aisle. She married music mogul Tommy Mattola in 1993 and the couple called it quits four years later. Cannon was previously engaged to Victoria’s Secret model Selita Ebanks. The two called it quits shortly after getting engaged. When asked about the marriage rumors, Ebanks reportedly said, "I have no comment but I wish them well."
