Carey, 38, reportedly said, "It’s good. Life is beautiful, and things are going well." She also said that since she wed 27-year old Cannon she has heard people that people are doubting their marriage and say "things are rocky and hazy and messed up" between them. She said, "I’m like, ‘Why would we have gotten married?’" Carey added, "I’m ecstatic, so be ecstatic with me! Be happy with me. Can we celebrate?"
Carey, 38, and Cannon, 27, were married in an intimate ceremony at Carey’s home in the Bahamas in April. The couple initially remained mum on the marriage rumors, but Carey confirmed the rumors in May. She reportedly said, "We really do feel we are soul mates. I never felt a love like this was in the cards for me." Cannon said, "She is beautiful on the outside and 10 times as beautiful on the inside." Carey also reportedly got "Mrs. Cannon" tattooed on her back before the ceremony.
The couple met in late March when Cannon was hired to appear in Carey’s video for her new single "Bye Bye." Cannon has said that they clicked instantly. The couple is even reportedly talking about starting a family. Carey said, "I couldn’t imagine anybody that I’ve ever met being a better dad." Carey was previously married to record exec Tommy Mottola from 1993-1997. This is the first marriage for Cannon, but he was previously engaged to Victoria’s Secret model Selita Ebanks.
