Man vs Wild is a serial which document the survival of Bear Grylls in extreme situations, which has never been aired before. Till now this show has a total of 46 episodes of 45 minutes each. Broadcasted on Discovery Channel in United Kingdom, it is also shown on Channel 4 in UK. Diverse Bristol, a British television production company, has produced Man vs Wild series.

Bear Grylls has also signed for shooting of the show for the fourth season as three seasons have been shot in the past. Thirteen episodes will be produced in the fourth season. The serial was run originally on 27 October 2006 and still continues to be shown on Discovery Channel, which can be seen all over the world.

Background of Man vs Wild

In Man vs Wild, Bear Grylls is left in an unreachable region stranded. The shooting of his efforts to survive from this region and come back to the civilized region is carried out. One night stay in that particular region is must.

Before shooting of the episode air reconnaissance of the region is carried out and Bear Grylls undergo various briefing about the conditions of the region and survival techniques for two days. He is also accompanied by a cameraman and a sound engineer during his task.

Discovery Channel and Grylls have released a book in April 2008 about the survival tips from this TV show.

About Bear Grylls, Anchor of Man vs Wild

Bear Grylls is a die hard adventure lover. His real name is Edward Michael Grylls and he hold a black belt in Shotokan Karate. He has been involved in a number of adventure sports activities. He has climbed the highest mountain peak on this planet, Mount Everest. Bear Grylls servied in British Army in special forces unit and became the youngest Britisher to return alive after scaling Mount Ama Dablan and Mount Everest. He also has the distinction of facing the extreme heat in Moab Desert of Utah.

He survived even after breaking his back during an accident while undertaking a free fall parachuting event and just after a period of 18 months he became the youngest British citizen to summit Mount Everest. He has the achievement of surviving in extreme difficult conditions in all the seven continents of the world.

One of the special quality of this hero of man vs Wild is that he can eat rats, raw zebra, piranha and can drink water from an elephant's crap.
