Man Made Diamonds: As Good as the Real Thing?

Man made diamonds have made some big strides in quality over the last few years. Here's a look.
Chances are you admire diamond jewelry. The stones are beautiful and exquisite. But unfortunately, they've also always been out of your price range. Now, however, you can take a look at man made diamonds, which have been created in a lab to resemble the real thing down to the last detail. You might know you're wearing a fake, but nobody else will be able to tell, and you won't have had to give up a lot of your hard-earned income.

Typically, created diamonds fit into one of four categories: the CVD polycrystalline diamond, the CVD single crystal diamond, the HPHP single crystal diamond, and HPHT grit. Within these four categories, there are all sorts of types which are like real diamonds - from YAG to the diamond nexus, with one option and the rest being hybrid diamonds.

Although relatively new, hybrid diamonds are celebrated both by stores and companies for their ability to be made with FCVA-Ion Jet Beam Diamond Seeding, and the price, which is even lower than that which you'll pay with most other created diamonds. Even if you're looking for a fancy engagement ring, you should be able to get one this way.

It might surprise you to know that your store probably likes selling such affordable items, because they're bought much more quickly and add up to a higher bottom line. Can something that sells for $800 really be of high quality? When it is cut by diamond cutters in Israel as these are, the answer is yes. They really are just like completely real diamonds.

It would seem these diamonds have no faults. After all, in terms of their chemical make-up and struggle, they essentially are real diamonds. But there is one point you should consider. Often, real diamonds are valued for their ability to be completely colorless. You'll be hard pressed to find man made diamonds that can keep this same effect.

Diamonds can be created at a surprisingly fast rate of three months or so, yet this is still a big time investment for the people making them. There's also difficult work involved, especially in the cast of white diamonds, since no nitrogen can be in the environment around them. High quality means a higher price tag, even with more affordable items.

Even though these diamonds are much cheaper than real ones, sometimes even they're too much for you to afford. There's another, extremely affordable option in diamond stimulants. You can get one for $50. However, they probably won't last very long and aren't that good for a wedding or engagement. Be willing to spend more when you must.

For the cheapest varieties of actual created diamonds, try Russian diamonds, typically $280 a carat, and white sapphires at $220 a carat. When you stop to look at all the places selling these diamonds, you'll see that there really is a huge range of choices. You're bound to find man made diamonds you'll like, whether you're keeping it for yourself or giving it to someone you love and that you won't have to lose a lot of money in the process.
