Making the most of Monday

A way to use Monday to help you reach your goals.
Many people just don’t like Monday. After a nice relaxing weekend, who wants to go back to work? For other people, the weekend is just the busy transition right back into the work week. Monday is just the reminder that we don’t get enough time to rest. It is possible to change the weekly grind of weekly feeling like Monday is the hardest day of the week.

It starts with Friday night

You can use Monday to your benefit. First of all, you have to realize that what you do on the weekend determines how certain things will be on Monday. If you stay up late on Sunday night, you will be tired on Monday morning. If you didn’t get to do all of the things that you wanted to do over the weekend, you may start out the new week feeling defeated, only to wait the entire week before you get a chance to try again.

You should always allow yourself a bit of a break on the weekend. The trap that many people fall into is planning to catch up on so many things over the weekend. The problem is that if you don’t allow yourself to mentally refresh or possibly sleep for an extra hour or two. If you don’t do this your body never feels like it gets a break. You need at least a few hours of rest, relaxation or recreation time between each week. Otherwise, your weeks and months are connected in one long repeating cycle of work and more work.

Try to use at least part of your weekend to recuperate.

Starting anew

Monday morning is the perfect time to start fresh. With a whole new week ahead of you, you can start out with a clean slate. Forget about what went wrong last week or over the weekend.

The start of the week is a chance to do better than last week. If you ever have the feeling that you could have done something better, try again on a Monday. Even if you are faced with completely new tasks, you can consider them a new opportunity to do something well. Take advantage of the fact that it is a new day and a new week. It can truly relieve stress, and help you perform better at whatever you do.

Instead of seeing Monday as the dreaded day of torturous chores, see it as an opportunity to be more successful at what you do.

Seize the Monday

Using Monday as a designated day to work your hardest will make the rest of the week go smoother. If you know that you need to get things done by the end of the week, try to put most of your efforts in on Monday. Use Sunday night to plan and rest. After relaxing on the weekend, you can use the extra energy to get ahead of yourself. Out of the whole week, Monday should be the day that you accomplish the most.

Remember to keep the balance, however. You don’t want to schedule absolutely everything on one day. The idea is to use the day as an extra effort day so things don’t pile up later on.

Don’t underestimate the power of Monday. If you use this power wisely, you can set a good tone for the rest of the week. You can put yourself into ‘get it done’ mode, and you will find that you’ve never before had such productivity in your life. It takes a bit of discipline, and you might have to try out a few Mondays before you see the rewards. You may not be able to do everything you want to in that one day. It’s okay, another Monday will come again soon. Start being positive about Mondays. I am sure that you won’t regret it.
