Make Paper Snowflakes

Paper snowflakes are designs or patterns which are made on paper, by first folding and then, cutting it. Step 1
The first step is to take a square shaped paper. The size of the paper will depend on how big you want the paper snowflake to be. If you have never made a paper snowflake before, it would be best to take a small piece of paper. If you have a rectangular shaped paper, you can convert it into a square by folding it diagonally and then, cutting it off the excess from the end.

Step 2
The next step would be to fold the square shaped paper diagonally, so that it forms a triangle. Once this is done, fold the paper again to make a smaller triangle. Make sure that the edges are neat i.e. one has to fold the paper evenly to get a symmetrical snowflake. After this, take one end of the triangle and fold it so that it reaches just below the apex of the triangle. In the same way, fold the other end of the triangle too. Next, cut off the paper from the top. However, do not cut it straight, rather you can use different angles to give the snowflakes different types of sharp points.

Step 3
With the piece of folded triangle that is left with you, you can start cutting the edges. Most people get stuck here and look for ways to make paper snowflakes patterns. However, what I suggest here is that instead of copying a pattern that is already made, it would be best to learn by experimenting. This will give you an opportunity to use your creativity fully and cut the paper into spikes, swirls, or the combination of both. However, make sure that you do not cut the triangle completely, rather keep a little bit of folded edges untouched so that they do not come off and you have to restart the whole process all over again.

Step 4
When you are done with the cutting process, the next and the final step of making paper snowflakes is to open the triangle. This has to be done very carefully as they are quite delicate and any harsh move can tear away your creation. Once you have unfolded the whole thing, keep it between pages of a notebook so that they lay flat on a surface.

Once you are done with the process of making paper snowflakes, you can begin decorating it with colors and glitter.
