Do not set your bid too high - Many internet readers might become annoyed with that and feel you are being greedy. Just set a price that is fair.

Try to have an interesting photo - The photo is the first thing a person will look at. It might be worth it to pay the extra money to have your picture appear a little bigger in the search listings.

Keep it simple - If you want to avoid listing fees, you might want to keep things a little simple without adding fancy templates and other things of that sort. This can really make your site look gaudy and readers can get confused. In other words, you will be wasting your money.
