Maintaining Healthy Skin Well into Your 60's

Some tips and suggestions for people who are looking to keep healthy skin into their 60's, from a skin care expert with years of experience in the industry.
As you enter your golden years, you may look back at photos from the family album and realize that your skin looked a little bit softer way back when. It may have been wrinkle-free, maybe golden and silky smooth. If you could only go back to having that great, smooth, buttery skin once again. Well, fortunately, there are ways to keep your skin looking great well into your 60's. With no science comes a new way to unlock that fountain of youth. It is possible to look younger, just follow these tips.

As you reach your thirties, start to be more conscientious about your skin. Think about it in every aspect of life. Always tote around sunblock and skin moisturizers. Creams, eye serums, and overall conditioners should be stored in your home, office, and car. Travel with them, and become religious about applying them to your neck and face.

Take into consideration things like squinting. Do you squint often? If you do, you need to change that. Squinting can cause eye wrinkles and even wrinkles around the face and nose. If you go to say, a sporting event, and the hot weather and warm sun cause you to squint, invest in a pair of sunglasses. They will help you refrain from squinting and help you avoid the formation of wrinkles. Also, if you can avoid squinting while at a computer, that will help as well. Buy a larger monitor if you need to. It will really help you stop squinting.

Start applying an anti-wrinkle cream at age thirty. Even if you don't have wrinkles forming yet, they can start to set into their grooves if you don't take proper precautions. If you start thinking of how you will address them early, you won't have to worry about how to fight them later.

As far as the rest of your body, apply a moisturizer and follow the same tips regarding the sun. Stay hydrated, and avoid sunburn when possible. If you do become prone to burning while you are in the sun, make sure you apply a healthy amount of aloe vera to your skin after being in the sun for too much time.

Lastly, don't smoke. Smoking is one of the worst things you can do to your skin. If you look at people who have smoked for the better part of 30-40 years, you will notice their skin is awful. Take a look around next time you are in a smoky bar. You will not see what I call "silky skin."

If you follow those tips, you will have no problem maintaining healthy skin well into your 60's. Good luck and healthy skin ahead!
