Magnetic Chalkboard Paint
If you are wondering about a creative remodeling of your home, or business, then magnetic chalkboard paint gives you the right kind of solution. Here, in this article, I will present to you the endless possibilities of how and where to use magnetic chalkboard paint, in greater detail.
You can think of several innovative ideas for putting your magnetic chalkboard paint into use. However, for the time being I have listed some useful stuffs you can do using this paint.
Magnet Chalkboard for Kids
To start with, you would require magnetic chalk board paint, foam roller and brush, painter's tape, chalk and few magnetic items. The area which you desire to turn into a magnetic chalkboard, should be bordered by a painter's tape. A painter's tape will keep the area to be painted from getting messy. Some manufactures offer a single paint product that contains both the magnetic primer and the chalkboard paint in a single coat. For better results, it is advised by some manufacturers to use the magnetic primer before applying the chalkboard paint. This gives the liberty to chose different colors of chalkboard paint; other than black. However, in both cases, a manufacturer's advise is always helpful, lest you end up in a messy magnetic chalkboard.
Magnetic Message Board
You can put up a magnetic message board in your kitchen and be free of cluttering the area with bits and pieces of paper and notes. In the same way as described above, you can paint your kitchen wall with magnetic chalk paint. For the message board, you can choose a picture frame of suitable size. With your choice of color, shape and finish, you can give a fashionable look to your message board. One important point to be kept in mind is to avoid applying the magnetic chalkboard paint over already painted areas. This may give an undesirable look to the overall finishing of the wall.
Reminder Boards and Game Table
Reminder boards can also be set up using the magnetic chalk paint. Small reminders and notices can be put up at the backdoor, so that they do not go unnoticed by your family members. Magnetic toys are always a favorite with kids. Using this paint, you can create a magnetic chess or checkers board game.
Magnetic chalkboard painting is similar to any typical painting. However, it has to be carried out using a foam roller and a foam brush to ensure smoother surface. Regular stirring or mixing of the paint is necessary while you are applying the paint. This should be done to avoid the iron particles in the paint from getting separated. Applying more than one coat of paint will give better results as the wall will get more magnetized. Since, magnetic chalkboard paint is dark in its appearance, choose a painting spot with sufficient lighting.
There is always more to the use of magnetic chalkboard paint. General and important reminders, inspirational quotes, important information, funny and memorable pictures, anniversary and birthday messages, Christmas and new year messages, romantic messages, and messages for different occasions are some of the common things that people like to put up in their wall and kitchen, using the magnetic chalkboard paint. Kids can be encouraged to write their thought for the day and any important lesson they have learned. Grown-ups can jot down tasks for the following day. Many a times it happens that we do not remember certain things that may be important. So reminders and notices can be put up in places where there would be least chances of missing them. Apart from a canvas, game board and other things, a magnetic chalkboard paint is more useful in keeping important follow ups.
