Recently a British tabloid ran an article about Madonna’s marriage being on the rocks and a source told another tabloid, "Madonna and Guy are over. It’s all very amicable." In response, Madonna’s publicist Liz Rosenberg released a statement Monday that said, "I am delighted to confirm that Mr. and Mrs. Guy Ritchie remain happily married. Though they were in different countries recently – Madonna is in the U.S. doing promotion for her upcoming album, Hard Candy, and Guy finishing up post-production on his new film. RocknRolla, as well as completing a Nike commercial and working o n several scripts in England – the family are joyfully back together at home in London. All is well and wonderful in the Ritchie household."

The split rumors spun out of control after Ritchie didn’t make an appearance last Tuesday in New York City when Madonna was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He was also noticeably absent at the fundraiser she co-chaired last month at United Nations Plaza benefiting UNICEF and her own charity, Raising Malawi. John Ritchie, Madonna’s father-in-law, recently told the tabloids that the couple is "not spending any time together." There have also been rumors that Madonna and the children will be moving back to the United States, while Ritchie will remain in the UK.

Madonna and Ritchie were married on December 22, 2000. The couple has a 7-year old son named Rocco. They are also raising their 2-year old adopted son, David, and 11-year old Lourdes, Madonna’s daughter from a previous relationship with Carlos Leon. Madonna was previously married to actor Sean Penn. The couple married in 1989 and called it quits four years later.
