Madonna Meets Divorce Lawyer

It has been reported that Madonna, 49, met with famed British divorce lawyer Fiona Shackleton to discuss divorcing her husband Guy Ritchie. She reportedly met with another firm before contacting Shackleton. When Madonna’s rep was asked about the rumor, her rep reportedly said, "No comment at this time, darling." Ritchie, 39, has reportedly also met with a law firm. It has been rumored that the couple did not sign a pre-nup before tying the knot in 2000.

Earlier this month the couple denied rumors of a break-up. At the time her rep said, "There is no truth to reports of a divorce, Madonna has not met with any lawyers nor are there plans for a divorce." The couple has dealt with the rocky marriage rumors since they were married. They have constantly denied rumors of a break-up. She has reportedly said of Ritchie, "I had to marry a challenge because otherwise I would just get bored. Whatever else Guy is, he’s never been boring."

Madonna, 49, and Ritchie, 35, met in 1999 through their mutual friends Sting and his wife Trudie Styler. The couple began immediately hit it off and began dating and in August 2000 Madonna gave birth to a son, Rocco John Ritchie. They tied the knot four months later. Madonna also has an eleven year old daughter, Lourdes, from a previous relationship with trainer Carlos Leon. In 2006, Madonna filed adoption papers to adopt a little boy named David Banda from Malawi and the adoption was finalized on last month.
