Lowest Calorie Alcoholic Drinks
Are you interested in knowing what the lowest calorie alcoholic drink is? Well, you've reached the right place. Read on to know more about the same.

In fact, I recently visited a restaurant which had a rather one of a kind bar menu. Instead of listing various alcoholic drinks, liquor and cocktails in the traditional manner, this menu had actually listed them according to their calorie content! Did I see your eyes pop out? Well, yes, that's what happened with me as well! Luckily, I still have a copy of that menu with me (I nonchalantly took it home as a souvenir!), so let me make use of it to enlist some alcoholic drinks and cocktails along with their respective calorie counts. Those of you who would like to know which drinks carry the lowest number of calories, read on.
List of Low Calorie Drinks
Make no mistake, alcohol carries calories. If you're the type who would need numerical proof to be convinced about it, then here it is. One gram of alcohol contains all of 7 calories, i.e. nearly twice the amount of calories that are contained in one gram of protein or carbohydrates. Speaking of beer, more the concentration of alcohol in the beer, more are the number of calories associated with it, and vice-versa. However, there's a catch here as well. What many people do is opt for a light beer i.e. one with a low alcohol content, and then go on a ballistic bout of beer binging. Well, that certainly defeats the purpose of choosing a low calorie beer, doesn't it? For your benefit, here is the calorie content of a few brands of beer.

Regarding other types of hard liquor such as whiskey, gin, brandy and rum, the calorie content in of all of these is pretty much the same, i.e. 220 calories per 100ml. Regarding vodka, 30ml of vodka will normally set you back by around 65 calories. Of course, what you mix with these types of hard liquor will ultimately determine by how much the calorie count will eventually go up! For those of you who like to mix 'n' match, here is another calorie chart for your reference.
