A low carbohydrate diet, also referred to as a low carb diet is followed by people on a mission to lose weight. There are many versions of a low carb diet. Experts claim that cutting down on the carbohydrate intake with an increase in protein helps the body. This means, a person has to avoid bread and rice and also limit the intake of meat, cheese and even butter. However, despite all the rules and regulations one may like to follow, temptations are bound to be there in many forms. Now, who can resist the aroma of freshly baked cakes! Tempting and tantalizing, desserts are really difficult to avoid especially while attending endless dinner parties! An 'innocent' piece of pastry seems to beckon to be devoured! Well, for those who simply can't sacrifice their love for desserts can take a look at these low carb diet recipes.

Low Carb Diet Recipes:

Yummy Cheesy Recipe

Ingredients
Cream cheese (16 ounces)
Large Eggs (3)
Almond Extract (1 teaspoon)
Splenda (2-3 cups)

For the toppings
Vanilla Extract (1 teaspoon)
Sour Cream (1 cup)
Splenda (3 tablespoons)

Preparation
Take a large bowl and combine eggs with cream cheese, splenda and add the almond extract as well. Blend these ingredients together. Then, pour this mixture into a greased pan and bake at 350 degrees F. This will take around half an hour. Once done, remove it from the oven and allow it to cool down. Meanwhile, mix the vanilla extract along with the sour cream and a sprinkling of splenda in a bowl. Spread this over the pie. Bake it again for 10 minutes. Allow to cool down and then place it into the refrigerator overnight.

Chocolate Cheesecake Recipe

Ingredients
Low-carb chocolate cookie crumbs (1 cup)
Splenda - Granular (3 tablespoons)
Butter - melted (¼ cup)
Cream cheese (Three 8 ounce packages)
Eggs - separated (3)
Sour cream (1 cup)
Finely chopped macadamia nuts, almonds or pecans (½ cup)
Splenda - Granular (1 cup)
Low-carbohydrate melted dark chocolate (3 ounces)
Low-carbohydrate baking flour substitute (2 tablespoons)
Low-carbohydrate melted dark chocolate (6 ounces)
Finely chopped macadamia nuts, almonds or pecans (3 tablespoons)

Preparation
In a large bowl, combine the cookie crumbs with butter. Add 3 tablespoons of granular splenda along with nuts. Press this mixture into the bottom of a pan. Chill this crust whilst your prepare the filling. Also, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Then, take a large bowl and whip the egg whites in this till it turns stiff.

Take another bowl and beat together sour cream and cream cheese along with the flour substitute. Add 1 cup of splenda. Add egg yolks one by one, to this mixture. Blend well. Add the whipped egg whites gently into this mixture. Now, spoon the whipped batter into the crust prepared earlier. Also add 6 ounces of melted chocolate gently into the cheese mixture.

Meanwhile, place the pan on the cookie sheet inside the preheated oven. Bake this preparation for 60 minutes. Once the cake sets, turn off the oven. Open the door of the oven and allow it to cool down. Once cool, place into the refrigerator and let it chill overnight.

Spread around 3 ounces of melted chocolate on a cookie sheet. Add the remaining amount of chopped nuts as a sprinkling over this. You can also scrape the chocolate from the pan and use these slivers on top or on the sides of the cake.
