Loves Sonnet
Poetry cycle – My Teenage Years...Poetry I wrote in high school...Love can be painful….
I was in love
And it was everything to me
But like a dove
A restless bird was he.
One day he took flight
All that he left were tears
And a lonely night
Full of fears.
When finally the sun rose
My love for him had begun to fold.
The beats of my heart
Felt as though they had froze
And I had nothing left to hold.
I began to hope however
That this feeling was not
Going to last forever.
And it was everything to me
But like a dove
A restless bird was he.
One day he took flight
All that he left were tears
And a lonely night
Full of fears.
When finally the sun rose
My love for him had begun to fold.
The beats of my heart
Felt as though they had froze
And I had nothing left to hold.
I began to hope however
That this feeling was not
Going to last forever.
