Love's Song - Chapter Four

So sorry this chapter is kinda short. At least I think it is short. Ah well.

After school Alex invited me to go swimming at his house with him. Of course I said yes.
I grabbed my bathing suit, my purse, and I was about to leave, when I got a text message. I quickly opened my phone and read it. It was Danny.
What does he want? I thought.
The message explained how he was sorry, but it didn’t say what for. I forced myself to reply, asking him for what he was sorry for, though I knew quite well what he meant. I just had to hear him admit what he did.
In a little less than a minute, I got a text message back from him saying, "You know what for." I quickly slammed my phone shut and threw it on my bed. He couldn’t even admit what he did wrong!
What a jerk, I thought to myself.
Before I actually did leave to go to Alex’s, I sat on my bed and thought a bit. I debated whether or not I was going to reply to him or not. I eventually decided against it, and left to go to Alex’s.
When I got there, he was taking off the pool cover in his bathing suit. "Hey!" I screamed to him. Like, literally, I screamed.
He turned around quickly with a smile, "Hey! Where’s your bathing suit?" he asked while he finished getting the cover off. He wrapped the cover up as tight as it would go and through it onto the ground next to the pool.
"I have it here," I said, holding up a small bag I brought. "I am gonna change, okay?"
"Oh, sure," he said walking over to me. "Let me show you where the bathroom is."
He led me into his house and walked toward the bathroom, but his younger sister was taking a shower. "Uh, you can just change in my room, kay?"
I nodded a little awkwardly, but I didn’t care too much. He showed me his room and went back outside. Before I changed, I looked around his room. He had pictures of his favorite sport teams, a family picture, and ME?!
I examined the picture closely. I remember when he took the picture, but I was surprised he put it anywhere.
I blushed to myself, then continued to change into my bathing suit. Then I set my other clothes next to his bed and walked outside. He was already in the pool waiting for me. I walked over to the edge of the pool.
"Nice bathing suit," he said to me when I came outside.
I blushed again, "Thank you. I liked yours too," I said, remembering what I saw him wearing before.
"Come in!" he said, splashing me a little.
"Okay, fine, fine," I quickly walked up the small ladder that led to the pool deck. First I put my feet in, testing the warmth of the water. It was fine, but I was still a little scared of just plopping right in.
"Just jump," Alex dared me. "I will catch you," he put out his arms.
I laughed. I walked toward the very edge of the pool, getting ready to jump.
"One, two," Alex counted, "THREE!" The second he called out three, I jumped into his arms. We both went completely underwater and came up laughing.
Alex then let go of his grip around me and went to the other side of the pool. He grabbed two pool noodles and swam toward me. "War?" he asked with a grin.
I smiled, "Sure." I took the pool noodle in his left hand and walked to the side of the pool by the ladder. I put the noodle half under the water, and half above, letting it fill with water. Alex did the same.
We both counted aloud, and on three, we both blew into the noodles as hard as we could, splashing water all over the place, but mainly on each other.
I’ve probably never seen Alex laugh harder. It was funny to see how such a simple thing could make him laugh so much.

After about an hour of messing around, we finally started to get cold from the night’s breeze. We both went inside and changed; I changed in his bedroom and he used the bathroom.
When he walked out, I already had all of my things ready to leave. "Bye," I said, not wanting to leave at all. "I had a ton of fun!"
"I did too," he said with a grin. "I will see you tomorrow in school, Violet," he said, giving me a small hug. Then I left and went home. When I got home, I got another text message from Danny..
