Lovers of the Vampire Race

Zoe is the shy good girl and never has anything wicked to say. Tom is the new boy and he's a vampire, an important one, Zoe doesn't know about his pale beauty and starts to fall for the human side. But Zoe's mom and her mom's best friend have been trying to match Zoe and Evan (Lily, her mom's best friend's son) together. Evan is also a vampire and has chosen Zoe as his mate.
"That's the third time you've failed this driving test" mom shrieked. "I'm sorry, the lamppost just appeared" I apologized. "I promise I won't take anymore more tests" I assured her.

"Zoe" mom yelled, in pure anger. I grabbed my school bag and hurried out the door, power walking up to school.

As I reached the school gates I saw Jade slouched against them, a cigarette in between her bright red lips. We walked into the school together and then went separate ways as the bell rang. "See you at break" Jade called through the crowd. I waved and wondered away.

We were sat under the cover of tree's at break, Jade was having a sneaky smoke and I was sitting away from the fumes.

"You seen the new boy?" she asked, grinning wickedly. I shook my head. "Tom Henshaw" she told me. "Haven't seen him" I replied.

Jade sighed and threw her cigarette on the ground. "He is mine baby" she said, wiggling her dark eyebrows and tossing her thick black hair back.

"You're not the only one after him, the whole female population is, including me" squeaked a voice. Carla Simmons appeared from the trees.

She's a sort of tag along friend but Jade wants to tell her to go away. It's just too mean so I let her hang around with us. "Well he won't look twice at you" Jade snapped.

I frowned and she shrugged. The bell rang and Carla sprung up. "Coming Zoe?" she asked. "Sure" I said standing up and brushing myself down. "I'm skipping see you at dinner" Jade called, disappearing into the trees.

The last lesson of the day I finally saw Tom Henshaw. He had messy black hair. Dark brown, almost black eyes. Straight white teeth with a knee jerking smile, pale skin and a body even a supermodel would envy.

"I saw him" I said as Jade was driving me home from school, she got her license months ago. "Hot, right" she smiled. "Yes" I replied truthfully.

The truth is I have never dated a boy, had a boyfriend or been kissed by a boy. The only boy I ever have contact with is Lily, my mom's best friend's son, Evan Holmes. He's annoying, flirty and very cheesy.

He's average looking as well, shaggy brown hair, pale skin, white teeth and light brown eyes. As Jade parked outside my house I spotted Lily's car. "See ya" I called, as I entered the house.

"Hey sweetie" Lily said, giving me a hug. I looked over and saw Evan sat at the dining table, playing on his phone.

"Please give him some real company" Lily smiled, looking towards Evan. I went across and sat opposite him. "Hey there my secret lover" Evan grinned at me.

I rolled my eyes. With Evan I felt like I could be myself, which was unusual, since usually I was trapped in this timid, boring, goody goody world.

"So want to head into the bedroom now?" Evan winked. "Dream on, romeo" I teased. I got up and grabbed myself a drink. "Me too" Evan whined. I got him one and accidentally on purpose split it on his trousers. I giggled while he glared at me.

"mom, I've got homework to do, see ya Lily, bye Evan" I said, heading to my room. I sat cross-legged on my bed and set to work on a essay.
