Lovers' Meeting Part 2
Nina and Blake are facing the biggest problem of their lives...Will they let it tear their love to shreds?
Blake’s mind was on its very edges as he spun around to face his stalker. He was half-expecting to meet the angry face of Nina’s mother, and half-expecting to go to his very own doom.
He was met with the anxious face of Nina, eyes big and scared. His heart skipped a couple beats when he saw her, cute as can be in jeans and a hoodie, but then settled down into its normal rhythm.
Without even speaking they both drew each other into a hug. Blake heard the subtle sigh that erected from her body. He drew back. Rubbing his thumb across her soft cheek he looked right into those beautiful, dark eyes that mesmerized him. They were so deep, honest, pure, and above all, innocent. All of the tragedies that life had thrown down at her door were unfair.
After birth her father had taken off, screaming to her mother that he didn’t want to have anything to do with his very own family. Growing up without a father had hurt her, but being dumped in an orphanage had scarred her for life. After a gruesome experience in the dirty, poor orphanage she had been thrown at a foster family. She now lived with them, trying to please the stony cold eyes that watched her from day till night.
His heart was aching. His own life had been one of plenty and luxury. She had a hard life to bear, and now he was leaving her to bear it alone? The world seemed to laugh at her as it gave her all of its bitterness.
Nina’s breathing slowed as she relaxed against Blake, his strong arms sustaining her. Her whole being ached to know that this was it, this was the end.
Blake’s father had been offered a business contract out in Washington D.C. It was hard to know he was going to be so far from her grasp.
Colorado winds made the trees groan again, as if realizing her pain. "This is really it." She said to herself more than Blake. It was hard to believe. After tonight she wasn’t going to see him for who knows how long.
Blake kissed her hair and sighed. "Yes," Nina could tell this was hurting him too. "But Nina," He took her face in both of his hands and tilted it up towards him, "It doesn’t matter how far I go, I’ll always, always be here."
Nina felt a hot, scalding tear slip out f her eye and roll down her cheek as Blake pointed at his heart, and then looked at her with his hazel eyes. It was almost more than she could bear.
They embraced again. Nina’s tears now fell freely, making her heart feel as if it would break. "Blake," She whispered against his shoulder, "please…please don’t leave me."
Blake looked at her eyes that were now over flowing. It broke his heart to see her cry, to hear that plead that he couldn’t answer. As he kissed each tear that fell he promised, "Nina, I’ll come back. Someday, somehow, I will come back."
A crack of thunder exploded in the sky. Rain fell with Nina’s tears. It poured. The heavens opened their gates and let it rain. Neither Nina nor Blake cared. They hugged each other, trying to bear their pain and heart ache. Lighting trickled through the sky. Not long after thunder lit the forest and revealed the two lovers, struggling to let go.
After several moments had passed, Blake let go of Nina, pressed their first and last kiss on her lips, and then left her with two last words, "I’ll come."
