Love Yourself and Keep Obesity Away

We spend a lot of time and effort to make ourselves look good and feel good mostly for the benefit of getting others to approve of us. But have we ever pause and ask ourselves if we would approve ourselves? This question is actually about our self esteem and self confidence that we have in ourselves. If we do not have self esteem or self confidence with ourselves, we can actually find the root causes of many of our problems stemming from these two factors. Studies had shown that people with higher self esteem generally fare better with their health that those with low self esteem.

People with higher self esteem generally are fitter than those with lower self esteem. This is because those with low self esteem tend to be under more self induced stress. And what this does is that, it will lead to them eating more when they are depressed and ultimately gaining weight. Although this may not be true for everyone but, generally this is the case for the majority of the population.

Recent studies conducted on a group of high school girls goes to show the validity of the above hypothesis. The girls were asked to rate themselves from a scale of one to ten regarding their "happiness" level. From the empirical studies, it was shown that those with a lower rating gained more weight within 2 years of the others.

As you observed, from the studies,how good you feel will have an impact at the end on how much weight you will gain or lost.

Pamper yourself or treat yourself once in awhile. By doing so, you will boost your own self esteem level as well as self confidences level. So next time you feel like having a nice meal at a fancy restaurant go ahead and don't feel guilty for doing that.

Don't get yourself engrossed with others. Reward yourself sometimes as well. If you keep thinking of those all the time, at the end of the day, you might forget that you have your own life and values. When that happens, your own self esteem might drop.

When we find ourselves too busy, we always look for shortcuts and whatever is convenient. Convenient takeaway meals are usually the junk foods that causes obesity. Next time try instead to cook vegetables rather than going to the fast foods restaurants. If you complain that you do not have the time, then you will find it difficult to lose weight. So
if you love yourself then find time for yourself as well.
