Love Stories: The First Love Letter
Here's the first and last love letter I ever wrote.
Well, the lights had gone out here, so therefore, I had time to think. Well, whenever you read this email, know that I wrote it on 13th March 2005, when the electricity wasn’t on for a couple of hours.
Anyways, I always thought the days in Goa for me were the best in my life, and i have always missed them. Though I always questioned myself why they were the best, I never came across an answer.
Today, when I was calm and rested, and napping, the answer that was always in the back of my mind fought my logic and came across to me.
The fact is..
I liked staying in Goa, in fact I loved it, and I miss that time a lot. You must be thinking why I am blabbering away this email to you, and how exactly are you concerned with what I liked and not.
Well, you are very much related to this, because you are a part and parcel of this. What I liked the most about Goa, was something I’d like to share here.
I know that this will be the last piece of conversation between the two of us, and therefore, I wish to speak frankly and clearly.
When I met you in Goa, you struck me as something nice, and by the time we parted, I had fallen in love with you.
Okay. I know that it is stupid, and cliché and all, but the fact is, I love spending time with you, talking to you, and basically being with you.
I will not say that I cannot live without you, because well, I am living without you. I even know that this relation never was to be and has no future, because we are from a different social and religious structure.
I also know that this will very well be the end of all conversation between us, but hell.. I had to say it, I have been living in a living hell ever since I came from Goa, and this is the answer that I got from a good evening’s nap.
I love you. If I didn’t tell this to you, I’d burst internally.
Now, what is the reason and objective behind this email..
Nothing much, just that I wanted to put this on paper, and I could NEVER EVER call and tell this to you, hail technology, huh.. and so that you know that you had, have and will always have a lover somewhere..
I will continue living thinking that you have read my email, so that I can at least give a proper burial to this incessant madness, which has been killing Me ever since I came back from Goa.
Be well, and farewell, I wish you the best of luck, in life and love.
Roy Daniel D’Silva.
