Love or Family Ch. 9

~Ivy~

The first thing I heard was a sobbing girl. Then I heard someone trying to comfort her without success. It took me a minute to understand what was happening. Then I remembered. I remembered being at my house with Daniel and Riley. I remember them fighting over me and I also remember choosing one of them be I fainted.

"Wait, I think she's awake." said a voice that I thought belonged to Sean.

"WHAT!" screamed a voice I was positive belonged to Venus.

I slowly opened my eyes to see Venus's tear stained face clenching Sean's hand as if it were the only thing keeping her from floating away.

"IVY!" screamed my sister. "I WAS SO WORRIED! HOW COULD YOU DO THAT TO ME?" The look on her face was enough to make me started cracking up.

"IVY!" two voices shouted in unition. I turned to the door of the hospital room to see Riley and Daniel standing just outside the room.

"Hi." I said weakly I really wasn't ready to tell them which one I'd chosen but I knew it was now or never. I also knew that if I chose Daniel I'd have to leave my family behind, and if I chose Riley I'd have to abandon all the memories I'd made over the past four years and I didn't know if I was ready for either.

"Um, can I talk to you guys privately?" I asked.

"Sure." said Daniel. "Okay." said Riley.

Venus and Sean left the room, and I prepared myself for the hardest thing I would ever have to do. I stood up and took a long look at each of them, both heartbreakingly beautiful.

"I hope you two know how much I love both of you." I said, they simply nodded.

"Daniel, you have no idea how much I love you. You're smart, handsome, and any girl would be lucky to have you." I said a tear slipping down my cheek. "You're the perfect guy, but not perfect for me." he just nodded but when I saw the look of pure sadness. My heart was torn in two, I knew I'd made the right decision but I couldn't to see someone like that because of me.

He left the room and I started to sob. I felt Riley’s arms around me and I was home.
