Love or Family Ch. 5

~Ivy~

"Okay, I want everyone to pair up for this next project, and your partner has to be someone of the opposite gender." Mr. Ross said.

I turned toward Riley out of habit. We'd always been each other’s partners when we were together. He'd turned toward me as well. I could feel Olivia Thompsons glare on my back. Liv (Olivia) was the queen bee at our school and she already hated me for taking Daniel (her ex-crush) from her even though everyone knew he had no interest in her what-so-ever. Now she probably wanted to kill me for taking the Riley who was one of the only three hot guys in school. The three guys were Riley, Daniel, and Sean.

"So...uh...want to be partners?" Riley asked in a way that made me laugh.

"Sure." I said.

"You and your partner will be acting as a married couple living in an early American colony." Mr. Ross said in his boring voice. Riley and I stared at him like he was crazy. Like it wasn't awkward enough just being partners, now we had to pretend to be MARRIED!

"Well, isn't this going to be a fun project?" I said sarcastically

"You are absolutely right." Riley replied.

The next forty minutes was pretty awkward. Luckily, Riley and I knew each other pretty well, and we knew where to draw the line. The thing I love about hanging out with Riley is that he and I don't have to work to impress each other; we're just our natural selves. We don't have to hold back, our relationship isn't complicated and that was what made it so hard to resist him.

~Venus~

I was waiting for Ivy by my locker which was usually where we met after sixth period. When she didn't show up I went looking for her and when I found her I was shocked with what I saw, absolutely shocked.
