Love or Family Ch. 3

~Ivy~

Venus, Sean, and I were sitting on the couch watching TV when there was a knocking on the door. I got up and opened the door. Seeing the person standing on the porch was almost more than I could handle. It was Daniel; he looked every bit as beautiful as I remembered him, except now he looked nervous.

"Daniel?" I asked in almost a whisper.

"Hello Ivy." he said

"W-what are you doing here." I stuttered.

"I came here to ask your forgiveness. I know what I did was wrong and I know that I broke both your heart and mine, and I'm sorry. Please, please, please forgive me." he said

"Daniel, I'm sorry, but, no." I said with difficulty.

"I told you, dog." said Venus who had appeared next to me. "You can't expect to just show up and have her forgive you for breaking her heart and leaving me to pick up the pieces."

"Wait a minute. Venus you knew he here and you didn't tell me?" I said shocked.

"I didn't tell you, because the mutt and I made an agreement. I wouldn't tell you he's here, and he would get a 'fair chance' at winning you back." she said.

"Fine, but Daniel please leave." I said

"But, Ivy-" Daniel started

"You know what Daniel? No. You said it yourself we can't be together. So just leave." I said emotionlessly.

"I will leave for now but you won't get rid of me that easily." he said while walking towards his car.

I felt like crying. I knew that I still loved him but I we couldn't be together. Daniel was just causing more heartache for himself and me. I wished with all of my heart that we could be together but that wouldn't do any good. I just couldn't be with him but I knew that it was for the best that we weren't together.

For the next two months Daniel tried to win me back. After a while I gave in to him.

"Daniel, I will give you one chance. Do you hear me? ONE. If you screw it up there's no going back." I said, but I doubt he heard me.

"Really? I promise, Ivy. I will not screw it up, I swear." He said with a huge grin spread across his face.

"Sure." I said sarcastically.

~Venus~

Ivy and I were in the kitchen eating an after school snack when she said "Guess what, Venus."

"What?" I wondered.

"I decided to give Daniel a second chance." she said happily

I almost chocked on the apple I was eating.

"YOU DID WHAT NOW?!" I screamed.
