Love Never Parts the Soul
A boy and a girl, their love so strong. The boy leaves to the army and comes back, the girl still there and they still love each other.
With the dark red roses withering in the moonlight, they were held by a boy who seemed to be in a rush. He looked at his watch, it was Ten till Twelve. He needed to hurry and get to the park soon. They agreed to meet at twelve, not a minute passed it. Then he saw a sign, COLD STONE PARK, that was it. He opened the gate and looked at a map that was next to it, he spotted the center and started to run there. Five minutes till Twelve.
The boy was finally there and he saw a bench and sat there with the dying roses next to him. he waited and looked at his watch 11:58. Two minutes till Twelve and she still wasn't there. The boy decided waste time and began to pick thorns out of the roses. Then suddenly, he heard a small faint cough. He looked back and saw the girl walking towards him. The boy could recognize her brown hair, but it was too dark to recognize her face. The boy was hoping for it to be her. Then she walked under a street light and he saw her face. He recognized the face that he saw five years ago. It was still as beautiful as before. The boy felt his heartbeat accelerate as she came closer to meet him. Then a tear trickled down from his eye, and then he had a flashback, from five years ago.
"Flight to Jerusalem will be departing in fifteen minutes." Said the lady. The boy was wearing his IDF uniform. He was supposed to arrive in Jerusalem and be sent to a command center to unpack and train. "When will I see you again?" The girl asked. She was wearing blue jeans, a black tank top, and a brown jacket.
"Remember where I met you?" she nodded.
"I will meet you there in five years." He added.
"We are now calling Zone One to board." said the lady.
"Please don't leave." Said the girl, tears were starting to trickle down from her eyes.
"Don't worry, I will see you again, I promise," he said dabbing her cheeks to soak up the tears,
"Remember when I promised to love you forever and always?"
She nodded again.
"I never broke that promise even though many things went wrong."
"Boarding Zone Two." The lady said.
The boy nodded, "I am going to miss you."
"Me too." She replied.
He kissed her on the forehead and went through the gate, a tear was trickling down his eye. He sat at his seat and looked out the window. He saw the girl waving to him and dabbing her eyes with a tissue. He waved back, but he knew that she didn't see him. The plane backed off and began to drive down the runway and then took flight in the air. Now five years had passed and now she was in his arms crying, "I missed you so much." She said sobbing at the same time. "I missed you too." He answered with a few tears trickling down his eyes. "I love you, forever and forever always." He said and kissed her on her forehead.
"I love you too." She answered.
"I bought a couple of tickets leaving in three months." He said.
"Going where?"
The boy sighed and answered, "I got a house in Israel, and yeah I know this is quite sudden, but it is so amazing there and I know you will love it! My things are packed up and."
"Wait," she said, "I need to talk to my Mom and Dad."
"I already talked to them," He said, "They really want you to go with me."
She was shocked and happiness and joy flowed through her warm heart, "I don't know what to say, I am speechless."
There was silence for a minute as she thought and then she answered, "Yes!" She hugged the boy again. "I would love to go with you!" She looked up into his eyes and felt the caress love that had been there since they day he left to Israel. "Well then, I need to catch up on things, what have I missed?" He took her hand and they walked around the park, exchanging stories as they walked.
Still holding the roses the boy faces the girl, her eyes looking into his. "I want to give you these roses." The boy said. The girl looked at the roses and saw that they were dying and asked, "Why are they dying?" The boy answered softly, "When I went on my first mission after training, they put me in Sderot I saw some roses and I thought of you, so I chose to pick them," he paused for a moment and then continued, "Then we were suddenly attacked by three armed Muslims, I almost lost my life. Though there was one thing that kept my fighting, and that was you, and I thought of the promise I made to you."
Then the boy had another flashback.
"GET DOWN!" shouted a soldier.
The boy ducked down, evading a Muslims spray of bullets. One of the soldiers shot the Muslim in the chest, he shot wildly as he fell to the ground. He only hit the air.
"How many left?" The boy shouted looking around forone of the Muslims.
"Two." A soldier shouted. Then the flashback began to fade away.
"That must have been scary." The girl said.
"It was, we lost one man. When we caught the last Muslim he blew himself up."
"Oh my!" She hugged the boy tightly,
" I am so happy you are still alive."
"I am happy too," he said,
"I kept the rose with me since then, it always reminded me of hope and so I never lost hope when I fought."
"Thank you so much!" She said kissing him directly on the lips passionately, the boy kissed her back with the same love. "We need to go, its Twelve, Thirty," the boy said, "Let me walk you home." The girl took his arm and put her head on his shoulder as they walked. They arrived at the door. The boy held her hands and said, "I will see you tomorrow," He kissed her. "Goodnight, sweet dreams, and I wish you all the best."
It was one in the afternoon and he still didn't call. She tried to call him numerous times, but he still didn't answer. She decided to wait for him to call back, she turned on the TV and flipped through the channels until she landed on the news. That was when her jaw dropped. "Last night a boy was shot while walking him we haven't been able to identify who shot the boy. We weren't able to find the parents or identify who the boy is, but for know he is resting in St. Charles Hospital."
The girl got in her car and began to drive to the hospital. Tears were streaming down from her eyes. "This can't be happening." She said. She arrived at the hospital and ran passed the front desk. The nurse didn't have enough time o stop her. She then was in an empty hallway and saw a nurse and asked what room the boy was in. "201" She answered. The girl found the room and walked in quietly. The boy was in a bed, he was barely breathing. The girl went by the boys side and took his hand, "I will always be here for you. I love you and I care about you, forever and always." The boy opened his eyes and said, "I will love you too, forever and always." A doctor walked in and saw the girl and said, "You must be a friend of his, I would like to speak to you outside."
"Okay."
"You must be really close to him, yes?" She nodded. "Well, unfortunately he was shot last night and bullets are to close to his heart to take out and now his heart is becoming weak and it will soon give away."
"You mean death?"
The doctor nodded.
Tears began to fall from her eyes, her body began to shake with shock and sadness.
"For right now we have him under life support," the doctor said, "That will only help for a little. Can you tell him?" She nodded. She went back in the room and looked at the boy, another tear fell from her eyes, they boy laid there wide awake and asked, "What's wrong?"
She answered wiping the tears off from her face, "The doctors told me." She burst in tears and held the boys hand, "You are going to die." The boy started to shake with shock and grief. The girl looked in his eyes and said, "I will still not leave you." She kissed him. Two months passed and the girl always stayed by the boys side. The doctors tried their best to prevent the boy from dying, but he kept on getting weaker and weaker and suffering more and more. Then it was that one night, the boy and the girl were together for the last time. "Can you do me a favor?" Asked the boy.
"Yes."
The boy coughed and said, "Promise me that you will always love me and that you will never forget about me." Tears started to appear on the girls eyes again, "I love you, forever and always. I will never forget you for what you have done and how much you meant to me." She kissed the boy.
"Can you do something for me, it isn't that much?" The boy nodded. The girl spoke with tears and her heart felt pain and sorrow, "Promise me... that you will always be there."
"I promise, forever and always watching over you." The girl kissed him goodnight, for the last time.
Later that night the boy passed away, his heart unable to take anymore pain. Later, when the third month came the girl moved to Israel, raising her child. It was only the girl and her child that moved. The girl always believed that he watched over her and their son. Never breaking his promise that he made to her. Their child grew and grew and became a great person, he joined the IDF for two years. After coming back from the IDF he became a doctor and published his first novel.
Before the child was able to walk on his own, the family went through few harsh things, that only lasted for a week after they moved to Israel. There was one thing the girl remembered about the boy, the relationship they had was never broken. Their relationship had many bumps, but the boy always promised that each one would be the last and that he would never stop fixing himself. The boy worked on trying to change himself for months, but the only thing that remained the same was the emotions for the girl, the reason for what he was changing. The boy could never let the girl know how he could never stop caring and loving the girl, she could never forget how special she was to him. The boy died knowing that the girl would never stop loving him. The relationship they had, continued after his death like they both had promised each other, forever and always.
When the girl went to the boys funeral this was what she had to say,
With both good times together and bad. He always told me that he would fix himself. That was many years ago, soon before he went to Israel he showed me that he changed, I fell in love with him all over again, even though I said to myself that I won't. What I realized when I fell in love with him was how he always cared for me and other people. I remember a time when he sent me a letter just to make sure that it would put a smile on my face. He always went out of his way to make someone he cared about smile. His promises were never broken or forgotten, but now he is gone and his soul will rest in peace. I love him and I always will, and all of us will never forget such a great person he was.
When the sun rises, a child is born and when the sunsets a person is gone. When two people unite, their love is strong, but in the end death does them apart. Though what we have are memories, to keep the love, that once was there. To remember the happiness they shared, forgetting the troubles that kept them apart. Now all that she can do is remember the things she with him, the tears she shed for him, and his love that never went away. Forever and always, will she remember his smiling face, as the angels take him away.
