CHAPTER 10

"Raven? Raven baby are you awake?" I heard Nicks voice. I groaned and driffted back into the blackness i now know as heave.

"How is she?" I heard Ryans voice whisper.
"Shes been coming in and out of awareness for about two days." Someone said.
"What happened. I have the vampire in a cell right now." Ryan said. Wait.. Vampire. Oh my god. Nick!
"Ry-Ryan." I whispered. It hurt to talk. Then I was back into the darkness.

I was aware of beeping. That's what maybe woke me up. I'm not sure. I just know that it was what I heard when I awoke.
Then it was the pain. It flared threw me like fire. I could scream. Something was telling me not to. Then I heard the whispers. Soft at first. To soft to know what they were saying then louder.
"She imprinted with a vampire. I hear they have him in a cell and there beating him. The young man Alec saved her. That's what the king says the vampire says Alec did this to her.

"Nick." I whispered. Wait. Did i just speak? Yes i did. Maybe i can say it louder. "Hey. Did she just say something" Asked a brand new voice.
"Nick." I said louder. I still couldn't open my eyes.
"Shes saying a name." Said the voice befor.
"Shes saying Nick!" Amy said and I swear if it hadn't hurt so much i would have jumped out of bed and knocked her upside the head.
"Who is Nick?" Asked a voice.
"Its the vampire. Now hush maybe she'll say what happened." Amy said and i pulled in all I had.

"Nick didn't do it." I whispered. God that took a lot.
"She says Nick didn't do it." Amy said.
"Alec..." I whispered and stopped. I pulled my eyes open and looked around. Amy was next to me. Her face was close to mine and she looked like she had been crying.
"Hes here. Hes here." She whispered to me.
"Kill him he did this." I said and into the darkness I went.

"I freaking told you I didn't do it." Nick growled.
"Well you just lucky she had enough strength to say you didn't. Tho I don't know how she knew you were in trouble but that beside the point. Shes still passed out and I don't know of she'll ever wake up." Ryan said and I knew what I had to do. I could play it up a bit. Pretend to be passed out and get him to talk to mom.

"Mom. I need mom." I whispered.
"Raven?" Ryan asked.
"Get mom." I said then I ignored everything he said. I didn't reply to anything.
A few hours later i was aware of the new silence. It was like death.
"Dear god what has been done to her?!" My mother shrieked. Oh so thats why they were all silent.
"She was thrown threw a wall." Ryan said. I forced my eyes opened.
"Shes awake!" Yelled Amy.
"Raven?" Nick said and i looked at him. He had dirt on his face and dried blood.
"Oh Nick.." I whispered. He smiled a small smiled and leaned down and gave me a kiss.

"What is going on?" Asked my mother. She then came to stand in front of my bed.
"She was thrown threw a wall." Ryan said and I saw my mothers face flush red.
"I know that. I'm not retarded!" She yelled and I jumped a little.
"Then what must you know?" Asked Ryan.
"Who is that?" She asked pointing at Nick.
"Ravens mate." Ryan said and Nick looked down at me his eyes wide. I smiled up at him. Just a small smile.
"Raven imprinted with a vampire?" Mom asked shocked.
"Yes." I said and my mothers eyes snapped to me.

"And you called me so many things because of what I had done." She said and she smiled.
"Go to hell." I said in a flat voice.
"You are my daughter. You imprinted with a vampire." She said. She sounded very happy.
"Mother.. She has just been thrown threw a wall. She has been sleeping for almost three days I do not think today is a day where you should yell at her." Ryan said and I was shocked to hear him call her mother.
'Mother?' I asked in his head.
'Shut up' He said and his eyes flashed
'Hehe someone still likes mommy.' I said in his head a busted out laughing. He chuckled.
"Whats so funny?" Mom asked and I almost said your face.
"Nothing. Just an inside joke." Ryan said and i smiled. Hes talking to mom. Its a start..
"You two." Mom said smiling and at that I fell back into sleep.

"Mama!" Yelled Rosemary as she ran to me.
"Baby what are you doing?" I asked as she jumped into my arms.
"Shes running away form her father." Nick said with a smile as he walked down the hall.
"Mama papas being mean." She said and giggled.
"Raven!" Ryan yelled poking his head out of his study door.
"Ya?" I asked and walked over to Nick and handed him Rose.
"Need your help. Seth is being complicated." Ryan said and frowned. Seth was his son.
"Ok I'm coming." I said and kissed Roses forehead. Her black hair like mine. Her eyes were her fathers.

"Please hurry." Ryan said and I laughed. Abby left a few days ago to go see her family and this was Ryans first time alone with him. I walked into the study and there was my red haired nephew.
"Seth.." I said and clapped my hands together. He laughed and reached up.
"Aunt Rave." He said and I smiled.
"Thank you Raven." Ryan said and smiled.
"Always a pleasure." I said and handed Seth to Ryan.
"What do you think your doing? I cant handle him!" He yelled and I smiled.
"Don't tell Nick I'm going to tell him tonight but uhm... I'm..." I started to say and I put my hand on my belly.

"You mean?" He asked shocked.
"Yes." I said with a smile.
"Good. I need a nephew." He said and I laughed.
"Maybe its another girl." I said and he glared at me.
"I want a nephew." He said with a frown.
"Ok ok ill see what i can do." I said rolling my eyes at him.
"Ya you better. Now take him." Ryan said and handed Seth to me.
"Ill watch him but you need to take care of your own son." I said and he nodded. I walked out with Seth and set him down and grabbed his hand. Rose made a face and I laughed.

"What's he doing here?" Asked Rose. Like me she was smart for her age. Seth was to but he was a little slower.
"Uncle Ryan asked me to watch him." I said and smiled down at her.
"Aww..." She pouted.
"Oh hush." I said and laughed.
I glanced up at Nick. He had a far away look in his eyes. Some of the scars from his time in prison were still there on his face. But most of them had gone away.
"Nick?" I asked softly. He looked at me suddenly. Hostility in his gaze and I flinched back. He had never looked at me like that. He seemed to realize what he had done and his face softened. He had been acting strange for about two weeks now.

"Did you want something?" He asked and I looked at him. His green eyes looked into mine. Then he looked away. Just like that he broke our gaze and turned and walked away. If I wanted to I could brake into his mind. Find out what he was keeping from me.
"Raven.." Said a vampire. His sister. I realized my eyes had filled with tears.
"Yes?" I asked trying not to blink.
"You should get use to this. I knew it was a matter of time. He doesn't stay with someone for long." She said. I knew she hated me. Because i was a wolf.
"Go to hell." I said and picked up Rose and walked away. Seth trailed behind us a smile in his face.
"Hes going to leave you!" She yelled after me..

"Never." I whispered to my self. I went into the room Nick and I shared. He wasn't here. I went to my old room leaving the children in the play room. My door was slightly open. I pushed it all the way open and Nick was sitting on my old bed his head in his hands
"Nick?" I asked. I realized how scared I was. How scared I was that his sister was right. That he would leave me.
"Please just go away." He said his voice held pain. I walked in and shut the door behind me.
He looked up then his eyes flashed with anger.
"Nick." I said and walked to him.
"I said go away." He hissed at me and I stopped walking I was in the middle of my room.

"Why?" I asked tilting my head slightly to the side.
"Because I don't want you here." He growled.
"Its my room. My home." I said softly.
"Then maybe I should leave." He said harshly. I felt my body go numb with shock.
"Your going to leave?" I asked in a small voice.
"I have been thinking about it." He said his voice even harsher.
"Why?" I asked looking down.
"Because I no longer love you." He said and it was like he had slapped me. I wish he had.
"Nick you cant do this." I said placing a hand on my belly.
"I can." He said and then he turned and walked away. I felt apart if me being ripped away. The only thing I had left of him was our daughter and our unborn child.....
