Chapter 7 - Jealousy
The next morning was Friday, and instead of hanging out with my usual group of friends, I was hanging out with Steven. He was really starting to grow on me, well that, and I guess I just couldn't stop myself from looking at him. He was just too perfect. He was rambling on about his favorite type of music, food, etc.., but I was too busy getting lost in his eyes to pay attention. The way they glistened in the light was just so beautiful... My train of thought was then abruptly disrupted by a loud 'snap!' sound.
"Kisa! Kisa...?" Said Steven while snapping his fingers in my face. I suddenly jerked my head black and blinked.
"Huh... w-w-what?" I stammered.
"Umm, you keep gazing off... why?" He asked.
"Oh, u-um sorry, it's nothing big just go on." I said.
"Err, I can't now..." He said awkwardly.
"What? Why?" I asked.
He gently put his arms on my shoulder and spun me around. I turned around only to see Ashley walking down the hall. She was wearing a low-cut shirt (that pretty much was just asking to look at her boobs), a white cardigan, and low-cut shorts. I sighed in disgust. This girl really sickened me. She spotted me and Steven together, and began to pick up her pace. She stepped in front us and raised her eyebrow. Steven glanced at her, and she battered her eyelashes at him and smiled.
"Don't mean to be a bother, but I'm gonna need to borrow Kisa for a second. Okay? Thanks." She said to Steven, while pulling me around the corner into another hallway.
"What are you doing talking to Steven!?!" She said.
"Talking, duh, what else would we be doing?" I said slyly.
"I told you to stay AWAY from him!" She hissed. I suddenly regretted what I said just a few seconds before. Ashley seemed like she wanted to rip my hair out, and to be honest I was a little scared of her (hey, she's a whole lot taller than me).
"I know, what you said I just didn't listen." I said.
"Well you would want to listen this time." Ashley snickered.
"And what do you mean by that?" I asked, a bit annoyed.
"Oh, you'll see." She said. I rolled my eyes and sighed. Why was she so difficult? She then bumped me out of her way and walked towards Steven. Steven sighed as she tugged at his arm. Great Ashley just totally stole Steven from me. I sighed and decided to hang out with my usual group of friends. I spotted them by a sign and walked over to them.
"Hey," They all murmured.
"'Sup?" I asked.
"Shouldn't we be asking YOU that question?" Said Zayleigh.
"W-w-what? Why do you say that?" I asked, confused. They all rolled their eyes.
"You've been spending a lot of time with Steven... so what's up with that?" Said Maritsa. I still didn't understand what they were hinting at. I shrugged.
"What we're asking is, are you two dating are not?" Said Maritsa. That question caught me off-guard.
"What? N-n-no!" I said astonished.
"Well you like him don't you?" Said Emily.
"Well umm... a-a-as a friend." I stammered. They sighed and rolled their eyes. They were honestly starting to bug me with this. Then the bell rang and I turned around to head to Mr. Stingman's class. Another treacherous hour followed ahead of me...
**********************************************************
By the time lunch arrived I had already decided I would hang out with Steven (whether Ashley liked it or not), after all I owed him one for spacing out on him so many times during the morning. I met him by the same table I talked to him yesterday. I carefully sat down on the bench in front of him. I looked at him. He had no food today. This was strange, figuring he always ate like a pig at lunch.
"No food today?" I asked.
"...Nah I'm uh n-not hungry." He said.
"Why not, you eat like a pig every other day." I said. He rolled his eyes.
"I know, but I'm just not hungry today." He said a bit annoyed. I noticed his frustration and dropped the subject.
"So how'd your English speech go today?" I asked casually.
"I aced it of course!" He said jokingly. I rolled my eyes and giggled.
"Cocky much?" I said.
"Pfft. Well, you know I'm right." He said. He actually did have a point. I reached across the table to give him a playful punch on the arm. Just then I regretted my decision. His arm was literally as hard as stone. My hand began slowly throbbing, and I grasped it in pain.
"Are y-you okay!?" Said Steven while getting ready to hop off the bench. I held my non-injured hand up to stop him.
"Y-yea I'm fine." I lied. He sighed and plopped back down. Just then my phone began vigorously vibrating against the bench. I picked it up to see a text message from Erick. I replied to his message and turned back to Steven.
"Umm sorry, that was my boyfriend." I said while blushing.
"B-b-boyfriend?" Asked Steven.
"Yea... his name is Erick, Erick Walton." I said.
"Oh..." Steven faintly replied. I nodded awkwardly. I suddenly remembered Steven's mysterious leaving and I wanted to ask him about it before he left again.
"Yea, so can I ask you something?" I asked.
"Yea sure, what is it?" He said sort of confused.
"Well, you know how you always lea-" I was interrupted by Ashley arriving at our table. I sighed in disgust again.
"Hey I need your help with something Steven." Said Ashley, while twirling her hair.
"Yea, but I'm kind of in the middle of something right n-" Started Steven, but Ashley had already pulled him off the bench. She grabbed his arm and pulled him away from the table. "Well, so much for efforts of getting to the bottom of his mystery." I thought. Then again I should have expected this. When was Ashley not ruining things?Just then Erick arrived at my table. This was strange, considering we barely talked at lunch. Why was he here anyway? I kind of didn't want to see him anyway.
"Hey, what's up?" He said.
"Nun much... why are you here anyway?" I asked, not trying to sound rude.
"I don't know, I just saw you here alone and I thought I would keep you company." He said. I blushed.
"Well that was nice of you." I said.
"Yea so who was that dude you were talking to earlier?" He asked. I snorted. So that's what this was all about?
"His name is Steven and we are just friends, ok?" I said with a hint of anger in my voice.
"Well I wouldn't know, after all you guys seemed pretty cozy together." He said.
"Dude! I'm not cheating on you, ok?" I said angrily.
"Whatever, just stay away from him." Erick demanded.
"No, I can do whatever I want!" I hissed. I pushed Erick off me and stormed out of the gym. He was really pissing me off.

After school, I gathered my books and was about to start heading home until Steven stopped me.
"Umm hey?" I said confused.
"Yea, yea... well you said your boyfriend was Erick Walton right?" He asked.
"Umm... yea sure, why?" I said confused. Steven sighed.
"Heh. Well you might not want to turn the corner then..." Said Steven. Huh? What was he talking about? I wanted to find out. I tried to walk past him but he grabbed my arm holding me back.
"Ugh. Let me go Steven!" I pleaded. He sighed, but let me go. I walked around the corner and my jaw dropped. Erick had his arms wrapped around Farrah and was hugging her close. A bit too close. They spotted me and quickly let go. I felt my face turn red with anger. How could he do this to me? I swiftly grabbed Erick's arm and pulled him around the corner. He saw my expression, and looked at the ground.
"Oh, okay. Explain, NOW!" I said bewildered.
"Hey, hey calm down!" He said. "You wanted to get cozy with Steven, so I decided to hang out with Farrah." I couldn't believe him right now.
"First of all we were just TALKING, not cuddling with each other, and second you're just a jerk! I'm so done with you!" I hissed at him. I pushed him against the wall and stormed out of the building. Okay. He wanted to get his revenge? Well I would get mine too.

Chapter 8 - Sly Revenge
I was in my room alone thinking about what Erick had done. He was such a douche. I just wanted to get back at him before officially breaking up with him, but I didn't know exactly what I would do. But then it hit me. I would flirt with Steven. I mean, it wasn't like I didn't already like him right? Then I heard my phone go off. Someone must have texted me. I picked up my phone to see a text from Steven. I opened the message that read, "Hey Kisa, it's Steven. I was wondering if you wanted to go ice skating tonight because I have to go with a partner, but she can't make it." I grinned. This was the perfect opportunity to get closer to Steven. "Sure what time?" I replied. "About 7:00," he said. I sighed. Right now it was 5:07 but it wasn't like it took me 3 hours to get dressed. It seemed to be enough time. I still didn't know what to wear though. What do people normally wear when ice skating?
**********************************************************
After I got out of the shower, I came to the conclusion that I would just wear normal clothes. I was wearing a plain black long-sleeve shirt, a gray scarf, black gloves, and gray Ugg Boots. Nothing too fancy right? Tonight, I also thought I would curl my hair (which would be difficult). Then I put on a hint of white eye shadow, black eyeliner, and Victoria Secret lip-gloss. At about 6:55 I heard Steven honking outside my door. I kissed my mom goodbye, and headed out of the door. His car was black with shiny silver rims. It was a 2010 edition Toyota Corolla. It was simply stunning. As I opened the passenger door to the car, I noticed Steven's eyes almost popping out of their socket. It kind of annoyed me.
"What?" I demanded.
"Oh um, nothing..." He trailed off. I nodded and got into the car. The interior was black leather, with silver dashes here and there. Wow. He must be rich.
"Wow, nice car Steven." I said. He chuckled.
"Thanks." He said while pulling out of the driveway.
"So where's this ice rink anyway?" I asked.
"Oh, it's about 15 minutes away." He replied.
"I didn't even know you ice skated." I said.
"Yea, well I usually don't, but my friends wanted me to go," he said.
I nodded my head, and stretched out the passenger's seat so that I could lie down. The nights cool air brush passed me, leaving my hair flying loose. Steven on the other hand looked quite uncomfortable. I don't know why, but maybe I'm just seeing things wrong. He almost always looked sort of awkward. I watched a bunch of trees, and hills flit by as we sped through the night. About 10 minutes later we were at the ice rink. The ice rink was a big building with neon lights advertising the rink's name, skate prices etc... I was excited to be going skating until I remembered that I was horrible. I was sure to be slipping and falling on my but about 90% of the time. I wonder what Steven would think of me.
We got out of the car, and entered the skating rink. It was crowded with people yelling, drinking hot chocolate and twirling on the ice. There were a few employees working at the Skate Rent Center. They had skates in all sorts of colors and sizes. Steven mentioned for me to follow his lead, and I did. We walked over the skate renting center. There was a blond lady with brown eyes working there. She had a strong country accent.
"Welcome, what size skates would you like?" She said politely.
"Umm, 2 pairs of skates please, one pair size 10 and the other-"
"Size 9." I said cutting off Steven. He looked at me like I was rude.
"What, it's not like you knew my shoe size." I said.
"Maybe I did..." Said Steven jokingly. I nudged him in the arm and he laughed. The lady took note of our order and came back with 2 pairs of skates.
"Here you go, and enjoy your time here." Said the lady while smiling. Steven and I nodded and walked to a bench to put our skates on. I felt a gulp form in my throat when I remembered that I couldn't skate. Steven noticed my expression.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"Oh umm nothing... it's just that I suck at skating." I said while blushing. He chuckled.
"I'm sure you're not that bad." He said. I nodded. "Well, don't hold your breath." I thought to myself. I slowly started to stand up (making sure that I wouldn't fall). Steven took my hand and pulled me to the ice rink. My teeth started chattering because it was so cold. Steven saw me and started laughing. I rolled my eyes. Just then about 4 teenagers came up to us. I guess they were Steven's friends. Two of them had dark brown spikey hair with brown eyes, and the other two were blonde's with green eyes. It was sort of weird. They were all cute, but not nearly as hot as Steven. All of them brought a partner too.
"Oh, Kisa this is Mark, Richard, Tyler, and Chris," said Steven while gesturing to each of them. They all bowed and I blushed.
"Hey." I said to each of them. After our "meet and greet" we got to the dreaded skating. I was awkwardly skating in circles trying to keep my balance, while Steven on the other hand was gracefully spinning and twirling on the ice. What a show-off. Whenever Steven looked at me he laughed. I couldn't blame him, if I were him I would be laughing too. Then I remembered my whole point of being here. My plan was to get back at Erick by flirting with Steven. I sighed. How was I going to do that?
"Wow Kisa, you really are bad at skating!" Said Steven laughing.
"Hmm well maybe you should stop laughing and come help me then." I said while batting my eye lashes and biting my lip. That was how you flirt right? It worked on Ashley all the time. Steven raised his eyebrows, and skated over to me. He took my hand and started gliding me across the ice. We skated in irregular patterns, and figure eights.
"Wow, you're great!" I said amused. He chuckled.
"Years of practice I guess." He said. I smiled and he spun me around. I pulled myself a bit closer to him, letting my hand rest on his chest. I thought everything was going fine until he started acting weird again. In the middle of our routine he froze, and his muscles tightened. "Here we go again." I thought.
"I... um... sorry but I have to g-g-go." Steven choked out. He dropped my hand and hurried out of the door. Wow I couldn't believe him. He was leaving me on practically our first "date"...well it was a date wasn't it? Either way, I'm not letting him get away this time. I'm going to stop him...
The next morning was Friday, and instead of hanging out with my usual group of friends, I was hanging out with Steven.
