Love's a Crime - Chapters 1 and 2
Sage is a terribly shy girl, who can't talk to a person without blushing or tripping over words. But what happens when she meets a handsome stranger who tells her to stay away from him or she'll regret it.. Will she listen or will she disobey his warnings and step out of the shadows for the first time in her life...
Chapter 1- Introduction
"Beep... Beep... Beep..." I wake up to the sound of my small alarm clock beeping loudly without remorse. I look over to my glossy window and see that there is nothing but pure rain falling from the dark cloudy sky. What a way to start my first day at UC Davis University. My cold feet touch the freezing ground as I make my way to my closet. I look inside it only to see oversized t-shirts, dark skinny jeans, and over used converse. I'm used to my clothing style and I certainly don't plan on changing it in any way.
Oh I forgot to introduce myself, I am Sage Romanno, I have long light brown hair, bright green eyes framed by dark long lashes, I have a heart shaped face with full glossy red lips, I'm Italian, and I'm 19 years old. I live by myself in this small flat near the forest but it's really peaceful to live in. I'm an only child due to the fact that my parents had died in a car accident on their way to work when I was only 9 years old. I had to stay with my cruel aunt in Texas since she was the closest relative nearby. I hated her with a strong passion because of all the horrible things she said to me and did to me, she always came home drunk with a vodka bottle in her hand. I tried to hide from her as soon as I heard the front door open, but even in her high state, she managed to find me just so she could beat me to the pulp. I never understood why she did this to me, but I can never forget her cruel actions.
Shaking my head from the haunting thoughts, I got dressed in a black v-neck long sleeved shirt, gray skinny jeans, black converse, and a white hoodie. I put my JanSport backpack on my shoulder and headed to the door. I locked my flat with my keys and started walking to UC Davis on foot. I walked in the rainstorm silently, shivering from the cold raindrops on my face, while looking forward to avoid from slipping in puddles or frozen pieces of sidewalk, my fingers were feeling dangerously numb so I tucked them in my pockets. I truly regretted not riding my bike there but there was nothing I could do now. As I kept walking, I heard twigs snapping coming from the forest. My first instinct was to freeze and to not move a muscle, but my mind told me to run and never look back. I guess my mind won the battle because next thing I knew I was running for my life. Yep, definitely riding my bike next time.

I rushed inside the halls of the University. My hair was wet, my legs were numb, my nose was pink, my lips were very blue from all the running in the rain. I felt terribly dizzy and was feeling lightheaded by every passing minute. I didn't become aware of where I was walking since I kept wobbling from side to side. I didn't notice the person in front of me and the next thing I knew I was falling backwards until his arms reached to save me and caught me before I hit the ground. I looked up only to see the description of a perfect Adonis. He had dark brown hair that was elegantly spiked up and it looked beautifully natural, he had a pale face and body, he had high cheekbones, a straight nose, pink pouty lips that were begging to be kissed, he was probably 6'6 and had long lanky muscled arms that looked comforting enough to be wrapped around you, but the thing that captured me the most were his light purple eyes that were framed by long dark lashes. I think I had stared at him for an hour until he cleared his throat.
I embarrassedly untangled myself from his arms. "Sorry" I said shyly. "Well you better watch where you walk next time!!" He snapped at me. I flinched back and watched as he walked away from me. Great, just great... I ran behind him and grabbed his arm. He stiffened under my touch and roughly pulled his arm away from me. "Don't Touch. Me." He said between gritted teeth. I backed away slowly and put my hands up to show I wasn't going to do anything. He glared at me and walked away swiftly leaving me confused.
