Susan loses her parents and has to move away from the only place she knows. But little does she know, that she will become everyone favorite because of her love advice, but could she find her own love life?
Family Reunion
"What are we going to do with her?"
Susan lay on the couch with her stomach, resting her head on her right hand. Tears flowing down her cheeks nonstop, Susan couldn't stop crying since she heard the news.
Susan went to Wisconsin Dell for two nights and three days with DPI, a program where they help you understand college better. They stay at Chula Vista hotel; it was so beautiful in and out. The hotel rooms where huge with a big kitchen, a fire-place, two big bedrooms, and a huge hot tub. Everything was so nice; there was also sessions they had to go through then afterwards they got to go swim, dance, just hang out. Until an unexpected news hit Susan.
"Let's send her to moms."
That same night polices came to find Susan, they took her in a small room. Telling her that her parents had got in a car accident, a drunk driver had hit them pushing her parent's car off the road to hit another car. Everyone try to comfort her, but she still felt empty. Her uncle Dannie came and pick her up and brought her back to Green Bay.
"Did you forget mom isn't coming back until next Christmas?"
Her uncles were in the diner room discussing who was going to take in Susan. Her mom was the oldest out of her brothers, who are Susan uncles. On her dad side of the family he only had three-step brothers and two-step sisters who she never met. They didn't want to take Susan in because they didn't want her, they didn't know how to take care of a girl especially one that is a teenager. Yeah, they grew up with an older sister but they didn't have to take care of her because she was the oldest, she took care of them.
"JR you take her in, you live in New York. Every girl dreams is to go to New York."
Her uncle JR lives in New York as a dentist, the second oldest. (Don't forget Lisa, Susan mom is the first oldest) Dannie the third oldest lives in Michigan as a construer, Andy the fourth oldest lives in Florida, he works in a restaurant so he can open his own one day. The youngest Jared lives in North Carolina just came back from the army and is a police officer. So you see Susan never got to see them, the last time she saw them was when she was five and now she sees them again but not for a good cause.
"How about Dannie, he lives around the woods. I hear if you spend sometime around nature you might find yourself. That could help Susan from being so sad."
Quietly and swiftly Susan soon fell in a deep sleep on the couch.
That night Oran went to Susan's house. Oran, Susan's friend since they were little and still is. He didn't see Susan at school so he ask Susan friends why she didn't come to school. They told him about her parents, he skip school to find her at her house but she wasn't there so he drove around for a while and came back but she still wasn't there. He didn't know that she was staying at her grandmas with her uncles no one knew. He left a note in between the crack of the door, hoping she find the note.
Good-Bye Green Bay
The next day Susan woke up in her grandma room. One of her uncles must've brought her in there while she was sleeping. Susan sat up quickly then regretting for doing that now that she felt light-headed. It was only 6 o'clock, she had plenty of time to take a shower and head to school. Looking around for a towel she found one in grams shelf by her dresser. She grab a towel and found her uncles sleeping in the living room, grams had guest rooms why didn't they take that instead?
Quietly trying not to wake up her uncles she tiptoe upstairs to the bathroom. She quickly took a shower before she woke up her uncles. If one of them woke up she wouldn't be able to go to school. After the shower she went back downstairs with the towel wrap around her to her grams room with her clothes. Her bag of clothes were the same one from her Wisconsin Dells trip, she didn't have anything else to wear. Her only choice was to go through her moms old clothes when she was young. As she went upstairs to look through her moms clothes the house phone rang. She pray that the phone stop ringing before her uncles wake up. But too late Andy woke up and answer the phone.
Susan found a pair of cut blue jeans and a plain gray t-shirt. She put it on and went back to grams room to get her black sweater. All she had to do now was go through the living room and out the door. She put on her flats and headed out of grams room. She grab her back pack from the kitchen door and decided to go in there to get something to eat. She open the door and all her uncles were in their eating. She turn around on her heels to leave.
"Stop right there. Where do you think your going?" JR said with a full mouth.
"What does it look like. I'm going to school and I'm going to be late." Susan grab a bottle of apple juice out of the fringe.
"I don't think you're ready to go back to school yet. And it doesn't matter your leaving anyway." Uncle Dannie said.
"There is a point I'm going to go and say goodbye to everyone and get my stuff out of my locker." Susan open her apple juice and took a sip.
Uncle Andy was cooking, he was flipping pancakes without using a specula. Andy didn't even have to look at the pan when he flip the pancake.
"We were going to go in and get your stuff ourselves." Uncle Andy said.
"I rather I do it myself." Susan sounded rude, but her uncles understood.
"Then at least eat and then I'll take you to school." Susan look up at Uncle Jared who was eating a pancake and drinking orange juice.
Susan slightly smile to herself, she was glad someone in the house agree with her. Uncle JR pull out a chair for Susan as she sat down between JR and Dannie. Andy set a plate of pancakes in front of Susan and pour syrup on her pancake for her.
"I can do it myself." She look up at Andy so he could hear her.
"I want to do, it's not like I get to see my niece everyday." Andy said.
Susan look down at the pancake for a second and a tear slip down her cheek. Her mom never had time to make breakfast for her so she had to eat at school. She started crying even more now that her tears ruin her pancake.
"Susan are you sure you're ready to go back to school?" Uncle Dannie said.
Susan didn't say anything, she just nod. She took off the top pancake and set it on another plate.
"We decided that you should have the right to choose who you want to stay with." Uncle Dannie said, Susan waited for a minute to swallow her piece of pancake.
"Please, don't make me choose. If I choose one then the rest of you guys would feel disappointed. But it's not like you guys want me anyway." Uncle Andy put his hand on his hip. Then Susan notice that Andy was wearing grams pink flower apron.
"I told you guys you shouldn't let her choose." Uncle Andy went back to flipping his pancake. "But no you guys wouldn't listen to me."
"Shut up you old hag." Jared through the newspaper at Andy back.
"Fine. Susan you get a couple of days at school by then hopefully we decide where you stay." Susan nod.
"Lets go school girl I don't want you to be late." Uncle Jared stood up and took his keys out of his pocket.
In the car Susan put her seat belt on and look out of the window. Jared put in a CD and put the volume loud. It was What I've done by Linkin Park. The song out of Transformer, Susan remember when her dad went to go see it with his friends they use boxes to look like a autobot. How ridiculous she thought her dad look like and how he try to sound like bumble bee. Thinking of the past made Susan cry again, she wipe her tears quickly before uncle Jared saw.
They arrive at East, her uncle drove around and stop on the side. Susan grab her backpack and unbuckle her seat belt.
"Susan I'll come pick you up, you have your phone with you?" Uncle Jared said as he lean close to the passenger side.
"Yeah." Susan said as she was still holding the door open.
"Ok then call me when to pick you up, bye." Susan close the door and wave as he drove off.
Susan waited until a black car drove by to cross the street. As she reach the school doors she took out her ID from her backpack. The first bell already rang so she didn't have time to go to her locker, so she went straight to class. Susan had math for first and second hour (2 hour block) so she didn't have to worry about running to class late during passing time. As she walk through the door everyone stare at her, they were puzzled. She sat down without saying a word to her friends; she just took out a notebook and a pencil avoiding her friend's eyes.
Susan is a girl who isn't very bright, if you ask a question you would have to repeat it again so she get it. It takes her a while to figure things out, but if you put that aside you find that she's a sweet girl and very caring well at least she was. She loves to help people and strangers even if it affected her. But she didn't know if she could still be that person anymore. After all her good deed this is how she's repay, her parents leaving her to a lone world.
Mr. G look at Susan with a smile instead of a "What the hell are you doing here?!" Mona on the other hand stare at Susan the whole time and Susan could feel her eyes on her. After taking notes and the work book they had extra time to they chat the rest of the time. Mona came up to Susan and sat in the desk behind Susan's desk.
(Just so you know, this story and It was you along in the begging have the same setting)
"What are you doing here? Aren't' you supposed to be-"
"What is there to stay home for? I'm just wasting time I mind as well go to school." Mona shifted a little when Susan cut her off.
"Susan you shouldn't-"
"It's alright Mona. Don't worry about me." But Mona couldn't. "Look I know you care but I'm fine, honestly." Mona didn't believe Susan.
"Ok, but if anything happens text me ok?" Susan nod.
Mona felt hurt, she never seen Susan like this before. Susan never ever cut someone off when they were talking, she would wait until they were done and then she say something. She felt bad for Susan, she wanted to do something but she doesn't know what to do.
"What are we going to do with her?"
